What a sham. Just when I think the GOP couldn't sink any lower.

Disgusting.

Ridiculous.

Any guesses on how today will unfold? Presumably the WH will push the narrative that the fbi investigation clears BK. So what will the opposition do? Are there any procedural options for shedding light on what’s really happening here?

Dem here. I'm on the fence about whether I hope Kavanaugh isn't confirmed which means Republicans are energized and Dems lose (polls now pointing at this plus Repubs historically vote in higher numbers than Dems in midterms) or he is confirmed, energizing Dems for midterms even though we get stuck with decades of this temperamentally unfit alcoholic abuser on the SCOTUS. Given his behavior he shouldn't but it's d@mned if you do and if you don't.

I want him to fail for the sake of preserving the legitimacy of the court

In terms of elections, couldn't Democrats vote with enthusiasm of winning the Senate and trying to prevent a lame duck session appointment?

You will be lucky to have a very qualified justice on SCOTUS.

I stated days ago, after the FBI investigation was started, that there would be nothing in this report that would be a game changer. The only sad thing about the investigation is that it won’t exonerate Kavanaugh. It can’t. When someone brings charges that are 36 years old, had no date or place of the alleged crime, and all the named individuals allegedly there have no knowledge of either the party of the allegations, how can you expect this report to be any game changer? I still cannot believe that people are actually believing the crap that has been alleged.
Think about it - NOTHING has corroborated her story.

WOAH

Frankly, that's more significant than the Bar Association's disavowal.

Liberals know that. That's why they've pivoted to the fact that he got angry about being accused of a heinous crime as part of a political smear campaign.

And all this focus on high school yearbooks and teen boys' slang terms for farting is ridicluous. Normal people see it.

This is the kind of thinking that got us Trump. You have to put the integrity of your government and institutions above politics and winning. K should not be confirmed, period. Republicans don’t do this, that’s why they stole Garland’s seat, that’s why they cling to power despite repeatedly losing the popular vote, and that’s why they vote for Trump even though he’s a lying two-bit criminal owned by Putin. Power before country. Destroying America to own the libs.

Be best.

Was Julie Swetnick's false claim of Kavanaigh's involvement in gang rape parties given under penalty of forgery? If so, shouldn't she be prosecuted and jailed?

The general outlines of her story - that girls were often drugged and raped at parties - have been corroborated. Mark Judge even admitted it.

But you know this.

If they put this man on the court, there will be a Blue Tsunami and he will be impeached. The Republicans have no honor.

Only if you are religious. I couldn’t care what they think.

Didn't she originally say she saw him spiking the punch, and that he helped arrange the rape parties and participated in the rapes?

Her story has changed so much. She is looking for fame. She just might get it, but not in the way she expected.
