Yep. Wow - Meghan and Harry can no longer show up for a 10-minute ribbon cutting. I do feel bad for the patronage’s and hope they can get a royal who will fundraise for them and see them more than once every seven years.

At least one charity asked that Meg continue on as a non-royal patron. But the Queen, as petty as ever, said no..not if they want a royal patron. I think that after some time, that just may happen. Because even as non-working royals, M&H still bring more attention to organizations than the remaining working royals.

But they're not there. They've left the country, literally.

They unroyaled themselves. They won't be showing up for tea. They're gone.

The same can be said of Kate, as a few of her patronages have closed on her watch and hasn't visited one of them in 8+ years.

The Queen stripped them of their patronages and honorary military titles since they aren’t returning as working members of the BRF and thus not living a life of public service (per official statement today).

H&M responded with a pot shot statement saying everyone can live a life of service...service is universal.

They are such petulant children. Guess what? Nobody thinks what they are doing in CA is public service. They are clueless, and this is why people can’t stand them.

They clearly had hoped they could keep them. They had negotiated a one-year check in, and the Queen took back the titles early.

They walked away, so they shouldn’t be surprised...but they are clearly seething...as evidenced by their rapid fire response.

The funny thing is: they clearly think they are doing the world a favor with their faux public service.

At the very least, the real royals aren’t pimping themselves out in a crass effort to make money and rub elbows with celebrities.

I suspect the Brits will develop a new respect for William and his family for their commitment to the commonwealth and contrast it with Harry’s selfish move to cut and run.

I think the British media will be even more harsh to Harry moving forward, and more charitable to William.

The British have been calling William and his family lazy for years.

Aside from that W+K were 'part-time royals' all the way up until 2017. They got 5+ years of marriage with limited appearances and duties. 2 of those years they spent living in the middle of nowhere - a fishing village where William barely took on enough hours to qualify as a pilot.

That is all H+M asked for (six months before they left the royal family in January 2020).
