That said, it's ridiculous to make U13 and U14 travel to California and spend thousands. ECNL takes top 16 teams from US at U13 and top 32 at U14.

IMO this type of travel should not be mandatory until U15 unless it's a team decision. It's s--- for these leagues to ask this type of commitment at these ages. SMH.

IDK it sounds like it could be a fun trip with my daughter. CA is better than the usual long drives to Knowwhereville we do all the time now.

Ha. We took trips to San Diego with our kids every summer. Didn't spend them on the sidelines of a soccer field for 90% of the trip.

Second or third in mid Atlantic GA is equivalent to the bottom of ECNL

So you're saying that Arlington will be at the bottom of the ECNL in the Fall?

This should be a lot of fun depending on how both teams fair in CA

People tend to forget about the effects of Jet Lag as well. If the players look like they're running around 1/2 asleep, it's because they are.

I feel sorry for the kids who will be sitting on the sidelines most of this trip. Have fun sightseeing

I agree. I find post-covid that the ecnl and GA teams have been really expanding their roster size to recoup some money lost. We had a few girls from the middle level of our CCL team get offers from ECNL and GA teams- So I feel like it is an expansion waterdown season, with a bunch of parents not happy at the end of it.

I must be alone in not knowing where knowwhereville is.

If you mean "post-covid" as in the 2021-2022 season how would you even know? There are no official rosters out anywhere to compare.

VDA - 16
Loudoun - 19
McLean - 18
BRYC - 29

Arlington - 17
FCV - 20
Metro - 20

Outside of BRYC, which they are obviously utilizing an Academy approach these current roster sizes are within normal parameters.

Are they allowing tournaments in CA now? They were worse than MoCo about sports and all the athletes had to drive to Arizona to compete, from what I heard.

Doesn't matter.. as the top team in the DMV/NOVA area, FCV will return from CA victorious!
