You should ask the administrator to see if its one person more multiple posting. We all know its one person that loves to cheat.

No, it doesnt matter.

They just want to scream the loudest.

It will be fun watching them freak out when Aug birthdays arent allowed to play down next season.

My kids bday is in December 2011 8th grade there are an Aug/Sept 2011 on her team that are 9th already.

It doesn’t effect my kid either way but my daughters coach who’s the 11 and 12 team coach has already told all 3 girls and parents they will join his 11/12 ECNL team next year.

It depends on when your school district starts. If it starts in 8/1 then what the coach said makes sense.

It will be interesting to see if they stick with this placement for next season when/if theres a player playing down a grade. In this situation the coach is taking a player playing in the correct grade and forcing them to play on an incorrect grade team. Most clubs wont do this because it will screw the player when theyre older and recruiting for college.

No one is going to police what grade someone is in and what age they were allowed to start school. In Virginia you can start school as long as you turn 5 before 9/30. Under this nonsense proposal should all August and September birthdays in Virginia be required to play up instead of with their age cohort?

So though no fault of the player clubs are going to screw them into playing on a grade down team. Which will result in them being unrecruitable when theyre older

Some just want to play in the top league when possible. College recruiting is a 2nd thought. That is why you have so many biobanding players play 2 grades down to cheat, because they cannot play in MLS team in their own age group.

You really need to stop with the bionanding hate. These players dont want to be biobanded. Its a last ditch effort to stay on a top team to maybe play professionally. The net is that they want to play professionally.

You're arguement that players should be able to play down because they dont want to play in college is just dumb. If you don't care about playing in college play on the B team. More specifically the B team thats your grade. Don't take a younger players opportunity to play in college from them just because you're greedy and selfish.

Biobanding players are greedy and selfish when stealing the younger players' game time, not the other way around. You should feel ashamed of yourself, as your son is a thief and a cheater.

Tell me are you mad because MLSN allows players to play down via biobanding? Or are you mad because ECNL doesn't allow players to play down under the current BY groupings.

This is an important distinction.

You should be ashamed saying this about a kid. I'm going to report you at this point, this sort of name calling of kids is despicable.

What is don't understand is how they think they'll be able to choose to play on a younger team. Coaches and DOCs define rosters not parents.

They'll just shop around going from younger coach to younger coach looking for someone that will let them play down.

Its the same thing the GY parents do with holdbacks. They'll just keep looking around for whatever league will let them play an older player on a younger team. Once they find someone that allows it they'll tell each other on social media and suddenly there will be all kinds of holdbacks on teams.

Its the same thing private school parents do. Its the same thing home schoolers do. etc etc etc

And it's OK! They're doing what's best for them and their kid. And no need to worry about GY, because that's not allowed under the new system.

By best for them do you mean by screwing a player the correct grade out of a roster spot and minutes because you wont play on the B team with players your grade?

But then you're maybe taking away time from a kid on the older team from the C squad OR other worthy B team players. Just stick to age. It's simpler that way. Leave the rest up to the parents to worry about anything else.

Ridiculious, nobody has issues with players playing on the correct grade B team.

Of course, there are no issues when the team has players who are either there by age OR ability. But what you propose to do by grade would be wrong.

Its not wrong its what players will need to do either way if they want to play in college.

If you do t want to play in college find a spot on a B team.

Not true. Some B teams play at the highest levels.

Ok great, instead of trying to play on a grade down A team play on that B team with players your grade.

Nope. Those spots may already be taken and unless the kid earns the spot, the kid should play at the highest level at their age group.

How does a team know what grade kids are in?

Once you get to ECNL level players graduating year is put on their profile and visible for everyone to see.

Notice how it lists the graduating year not the age. This is so recruiters can identify how long until they can play in college. Its also going to be a blinking red light if a player is playing down a grade to not recruit that player.

There will be no such thing as "playing down a grade". You play within your designated birth date, or you play up.

Why do some of you keep posting this nonsense?

Its submitted by the club.

But sure they can list anything they want as long as it says their graduating year. Which easily can be translated to current grade in school.

Under BY grouping players graduating year in their profile screwed the trapped players because coaches weren't allowed to contact them yet even if they wanted to after watching them play.

Under SY grouping graduating year will screw players that are playing down a grade level compared to when they're graduating. College coaches wont know how to evaluate a player like this. Are they good? Why arent they playing with everyone else their grade? There will be so many questions. Instead of trying to figure it out they'll just be ignored.

Only Aug and some Sept birthdays depending on when their school starts will be eligible to play down in SY. So no there will not be 10 blinking red light players. Maybe 2-3 depending on the district. Even then most of these players will want to play with their grade not down with the grade below so it will likely be even fewer.

Are they good? Why arent they playing with everyone else their grade? There will be so many questions. Instead of trying to figure it out they'll just be ignored.

If the kid is a prospect, based on talent, they will evaluate them, especially if the families already have made contact and they've seen them at camps and other events.

You should ask the administrator to see if its one person more multiple posting. We all know its one person that loves to cheat.

No, it doesnt matter.

They just want to scream the loudest.

It will be fun watching them freak out when Aug birthdays arent allowed to play down next season.

If your kid cant make the A or B team with players their grade I highly doubt the grade below A team will want them either.

So, basically half or more of the teams that play with kids in a lower grade now, have blinking red lights when it comes to recruiting? That's just not true.
Only Aug and some Sept birthdays depending on when their school starts will be eligible to play down in SY. So no there will not be 10 blinking red light players. Maybe 2-3 depending on the district. Even then most of these players will want to play with their grade not down with the grade below so it will likely be even fewer.

Ah, so only a few. Then college coaches certaintly won't ignore, especially if those players can play.

Nice so kids can list whatever they want

Its submitted by the club.

But sure they can list anything they want as long as it says their graduating year. Which easily can be translated to current grade in school.

Yeah, and the club gets it from parents. So you can list whatever you want.

And October births and Nov and Dec and Jan-Jul. Because they have age cutoffs and don't use grade.
