| Man… I was just making a joke about MD kids not being able to get in anywhere else. Sorry for the fire drill. |
You are obviously logically-challenged. 70% of the schools applied to doesn't translate into 70% of the students. When 95% of each year's class goes on the GP, Gonzaga, St John's or GC, than that leaves only a couple of boys to go onto non-Catholic private schools or to public schools. The distribution isn't all that different from the local parishes (Mercy, St Barts, Little Flower, De Chantal, Holy Redeemer, St Elizabeth's, etc. etc.). You can see where their graduates go in the May edition of Parish Times (available on-line). I've never seen Bullis mentioned and only rare mentions of Landon or St. Albans. Mater Dei graduates about 40 boys a year. Depending on the year between 20 (50%) and 30 (75%) go to Prep. Gonzaga and St Johns get a bunch and a few go on to publics. That doesn't leave many left over. I guess it's possible that there might be a family that might send their kid to Mater Dei to save money while intending to send him to Bullis or Landon for high school. But I've never heard of it and we have had three boys go through Mater Dei and high school destination is a very often discussed topic among the parents. |
Exactly! Saying that GP and Gonzaga get only 50% to 60% of each Mater Dei class is just wrong. |

| Why did Prep release its All IAC players much later than everyone else? |
|
Lots of IAC stars and former Cadets were on the big stage yesterday during the final 4!
Congrats to all players! Is Kabari / Burns the best IAC attack unit of all time? |
In the modern era, Burns and Kabari were lethal together. Prep should have won more titles with that tandem together. Hoyas dominated in 2023. If you go back to the early 2000s Landon’s unit of Byrne (Hopkins All American) and Matt Ward (UVA and Tewaaraton recipient and ESPN commentator) were incredible to watch. Gladding from Prep was also a very special player to watch and might have been the best attacker to play the game from the DMV. Neutral |
