Oakton had a shot 7th game of season lost by 3 now missing top player.

Madison had shot 10th game of season lost by 5. Just squeezed by Oakton can they?

Langley had shot 4th game of season lost by 6. History against them but I don’t think 3 horses can get them there.

Battlefield had shot 2nd game of season lost by 5. Healthy and team is rolling through lesser competition until maybe state quarterfinal. Will they be ready if they meet in semis or finals.

I rank the local contenders: 1.) Madison, 2.) BF, 3.) Oakton, 4.) Langley. I rank Langley fourth because they just lost for a second time to YT last week 16-8. Madison has speed, draw control ability, and the senior experience to challenge. BF is talented but very inexperienced and I don't think BF is ready this year. Oakton is clearly capable at full strength, but I'm not sure if they have enough firepower without everyone healthy. I think YT is the big favorite to win it this year. They have played all the contenders without faltering. Every other contender has stumbled multiple times.

Yorktown and Madison are both the favorites because of senior leadership. Yorktown has already played and beaten anyone who would be standing in their way. Madison has had some losses this season that they won’t let happen again.

Thanks Madison mom. Good luck!

Love how Madison assumes they will be in states yet they have to get by Langley who has more size, a better goalie, will get less yellow cards, and a clear advantage on the draw with #4’s self draw.

Both are good teams - will come down to coaching, goalie composure and penalties.

You extrapolated from that post that "Madison assumes..."? That's some elite "reading between the lines". Nice throw down for the Saxons though. No dog in the fight, but I will be firing up the NHFS for that game.

We just played Langley and let me tell you that they can beat anybody and not just 3-headed monster. They probably have the deepest and most talented roster in the state for publics. 9 travel players (5-Capital and 4 playing for YJ, Pride and Stars). We controlled the first half and a few bounces went our way, but once they got going, it was hard to stop. Great game BTW, wish we could've held on for the win.

They are long, strong and fast just like a poster said before. The 3 seniors stood out, but there are 2 underclassmen at Mid and Attack that people are sleeping on. I pick them as the dark horse to pull the upset versus YT. Oakton lost their best player and Madison seems to be a one man show and can be sloppy at times, that's how we beat them.

Shoutout to our SL coaches and players, was a great season!!! Good luck to the rest of the contending teams!

SL didn't play YT this year. So which head-to-head matchup between YT and Langley gives you the impression that Langley will now upset Yorktown...the regular season 16-10 win for YT or last's week district championship 16-8 win for Yorktown. Neither of the games were ever in doubt. I'm not implying that Langley couldn't beat Yorktown, but there has been no evidence on the field. I imagine that YT has more the 9 travel players on JV. I believe the entire varsity team plays travel (there may be one or two exceptions). Langley has some very good players, but they are not deeper than Yorktown and the on-field results prove it.

Been waiting to see POTY match ups on the field. Langley’s Colgate commit vs Madison’s JMU commit. These teams haven’t played each other since 2022. This is going to be the game of the year to watch! Hopefully there will be good officiating in this game as you know it’ll be a physical one. Good luck to both teams!

Looking at common opponents that both or either lost to

BF - Langley won -- Madison lost
SL - Langley won --- Madison lost
YT - Langley lost 2x -- Madison lost

Lean goes to Saxons in a close one

Wow, what a match-up. #2 vs. #4 on LN. Both are 14-4 for the season. Both with POYs in their respective districts. Has the makings of an instant classic. Have to admit this is an exciting one, and I don't have a skin in the game. Might have to see this live and get this on ESPN+.

Who's got Who on this game? Over / Under? My pick, Langley squeaks by 1 on a defensive/low-scoring game.

Looking for a Liberty District sweep tomorrow.

Langley vs Madison is going to come down to goalies which Langley has an experienced 4 year starting D1 commit vs Madison’s first year starting goalie. Field players on both teams are just as skilled and athletic.
