The most recent club communication (posted yesterday, 3/19) is that ASA expects to hear from the GA early this week. The committee has apparently voted on ASA's application, and the next step is the GA reaching out to ASA. I disagree that the club hasn't been very responsive. I think they're doing their best with what has been a surprisingly long process that they don't control.

Any update from ASA on whether they got in?
So despite ASA saying there is no intention to go GA/ MLS, this forum thinks they were lying and will go this direction? What does that say about the trust in ASA leadership.

This is regarding Alexandria Soccer Association, not Arlington!
Ah, got it. Yeah they will go GA since already either way MLS. Not newsworthy. Moving on

Having MLSN does not guarantee GA. Prior info indicated they would know last week but it sounds like nothing was announced externally.

If you look at DMV, everyone who got MLS got GA. It is a revenue grab. No reason they wouldnt give you GA if you have MLS. They are following ECNL.

Way too many GA teams in the DMV already. Just diluting their own product down by adding more. Unless the strategy is "Hunger Games" style survival of the fittest and they let everyone have it and then see who cant compete and has to be relegated to Aspire.

Some would say dilute but looking at the local ECNL clubs the talent is already diluted. A couple of decent teams but the rest are "OK". ECNL needs to re-shuffle divisions to make talent more interesting.

They should do a VA Cup with all the new teams to kick-off the the year, winner gets a place in Champions League.

Talent is only diluted because there have been no repercussions for failing in ECNL which gave rise to GA. Now, if GA and ECNL do start to relegate/promote clubs you will start to see more of an arms race to gather the best trainers/coaches in an effort to actually compete. ECNL, especially in the North Eastern US has been stagnant for almost a decade.

There is alot of not so good soccer being played under the ECNL umbrella if were being honest.

100% - and since they only play each other, many can go years without being exposed.

If ECNL is dilluted in NOVA with 3 teams, what does that make GA with 6?

It isn't diluted, it's stagnant, entirely different. People seem to believe the long con from youth coaches that talent is diluted because of all the clubs when in fact they don't want to admit their poor training. England has a population roughly 1/5th of the US, Netherlands have a population that is 5% of the US...etc...yet other countries produce far more skilled players in general. Without some kind of carrot for these clubs to lose or obtain they never will get any better. The current model of a lot of ECNL clubs is to recruit the better players from the other leagues. That isn't sustainable and we are seeing now the damage that it has caused.
