Team morale goes south quick when half the team is cut for the following year. This is the VDA way.

Two thirds were cut and one of those is out for the rest of the year. 4 kids are still playing that will stay with the team. I’m surprised they can still put 11 kids on the field every weekend.

Where are these cut players going?

How are they going to field a team for SC? Take some RL kids?

if they get cut form the top league ECNL, the natural landing place is in the 2nd division RL or the third division GA

Based on your post, you don’t seem to have a skin in the game lol but if you do, you are in for a rude awakening come recruiting years. Keep that ecnl hat on.

It’s an unfortunate situation. A lot of this has to do with AS vs BP. There is definitely a toxic environment. A lot has to do with half the team getting replaced with kids who have been playing a year older and are stronger. The other half is AS and how he has done a poor job helping kids push through and stay together as a team. AS seems to be a real problem, so I am curious if he well respected internally or at risk for the following year? I am sure the parents who are moving on have voiced their concerns to ML and/ or BP. Given how much focus VSA and PWSI spend on pathway to VDA, it appears from outside in that there is a big hurdle with AS. Do you think AS has staying power?

That is a wake up call to the VDA chasers. VDA does not develop. Fact. They will take your money, suck their young teams parents dry until U-15 then dump everyone ( most with physicality and no technical skills) and bring ready players from outside. How is this development???

What do you mean by suck young teams dry? Are they charging for extra training and exorbitant team fees?

AS vs BP? Do they argue a lot? Is it in front of the players?
Hunh, this person is just pointing out that maybe BP isnt the problem with the 2012s since they play for AS.

Seems like the 2012's and 2011's have that clubs number. With the new 2012 team next season, should be pretty dominant. Colleges will be watching this team.

Toxic environment? Didn’t seem very toxic at practice last night. Kids were enjoying being with each other and playing.

Maybe it’s just you? It’s always better when you guys aren’t there.

No they wont. Hold your horses, they will be closing out the 2009's, focused on 2010 and starting to look at 2011s. Enjoy all the wasted money attending showcases a year too early. Been through it twice; its all a SCAM until u16. Enjoy the merch!

Not PP, not in VDA. But I have been in the game long enough to see what he means. -At U12, VDA takes some of the best players from the teams, hence hallowing out the talent.
-But then, by about U14, after the wheels of puberty have started to shape player potential, VDA discards the early players to make room for other players, they deem to be better. -This sucks, but this is what competitive clubs have to do if they want to win. And at U15 and up (more so for female players), it is not so much about development any more than it is about winning.

VDA 2012 is mostly VSA, few PWSI, and players from other clubs that didn’t make Arlington, Union, or NVA. They were not able to add talent at U13 or U14. That’s now happening at U15.
Anonymous
3 remaining players from the 2012 are VSA, 1 PWSI and 1 from another club before they were on VDA. 1 outside girl that is 2012 coming in and the rest are 2011. They will compete at a high level for the MA next year.
