I've been overweight my whole life and I'm trying to lose weight now. I'm doing great on lunch, dinner, and healthy snacks, but Breakfast seems to be a big failure for me. I moved from a doughnut to a low sugar cereal. But that is still too much sugar with the milk and an apple on the side.
What do you eat? And does it keep your blood sugar relatively stable until closer to lunch, or do you also have to eat a snack mid-morning? |

I'm average weight but ended up with gestational
Diabetes while pregnant which taught me the importance of always having protein far and carb together and my blood sugar has thanked me ever since - so for breakfast I have egg whites (very low calories but mega protein also easy to measure a serving size if you use eggs or a carton of egg whites) - I also have a one serving size of cereal or oatmeal (unsweetened all natural throw in berries and half cup of milk) - its about 350 calories total and substantial amount of food and a good mixture of the protein carb thing - I track all of this in the lose it app on my iPhone ( best app ever!) |

| Protein is key -- hard boiled egg or two and a piece of fruit. That's my usual. Don't keep cereal in the house. On weekends, may have eggs and ham/sausage and toast. |

My breaksfasts are either:
two fried eggs with an apple (I use pam in the pan, not butter) or one cup of non-fat greek yogurt and a granola type cereal (measure the weight with a kitchen scale - about 140/150 calories worth) or oatmeal with cinnamon and raisens (I measure the plain oatmeal (1/2 cup dry) and add the raisens and cinnamon myself) |

| Old fashioned oats with 2% milk (I cook them for 2m in the microwave, and have them with a little salt, no sugar), and lots of coffee. |
