| 1.5 servings of regular Quaker Oatmeal (cook on the stove for five minutes) with a handful of raisins and a teaspoon of sugar. I'm a creature of habit so I've had this breakfast about 300 times a year for the past decade. |
| egg whites or a hard boiled egg and coffee with heavy cream and splenda. |
|
1 serving steel cut oats
1 1/2 tablespoon of peanut butter Protein in the morning is crucial for me. I never realized how important protein (even a little) for breakfast until I started eating it. I feel so much better. |
| I used to be very overweight (250 lbs) and I'm around 160 now. I eat a big bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. It fills me up. I never had much luck losing weight just by cutting down what I ate though. It always had to be coupled with exercise. |
| Another egg fan here - if I'm in a hurry I'll make 2 hardboiled eggs. I'll eat those on the way to work and also have a piece of string cheese for later in the morning if I'm hungry. Often, I'm not. Steel cut oats in the winter, but they're fairly tasteless. I also eat cottage cheese. I like a particular brand (Friendship). If I'm home, I'll make a spinach and mushroom omelet - tons of spinach and mushrooms and one piece of cheese. |
|
Oatmeal (1/2 cup dry with rice milk and berries)
Omelet with 2 eggs and spinach Homemade granola, rice milk, berries, or banana (occasionally) I was also having half cup fresh oj, but I've since switched to carrot juice |
|
cheerios, milk, (strawberries or 1/2 banana on the cereal if I have them) and about 4 oz. or less of juice (with a little water added b/c it's too strong for me). If I'm really hungry or have a busy day, I'll also have one Eggo whole wheat waffle with marg.
OP -- you shouldn't be questioning your breakfast if it is just cereal and an apple. You're not doing anything wrong there. Maybe your lunch portions are more than they should be or something? |
Cereal and an apple is carbs, carbs, carbs and no protein or fat. That most certainly is "wrong," especially for someone trying to lose weight. |
Well, the breakfast that this PP mentioned is perfectly fine for those who are not struggling with their weight. I usually have a cup of coffee with two teaspoons of sugar and some half-and-half and either two eggo waffles or a cinnamon raisin english muffin. Sometimes I just have the coffee and skip breakfast. BUT I am not trying to lose weight. |

35-40 grams oats cooked with water then splash with 1 oz whole milk, cinnamon, and 0.5TBS honey.
