Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread

Is there a discussion happening elsewhere on the board about the emotional reactions some of us are having to this stuff? I did not have an experience exactly like these girls back then, and am younger, but had others, heard and witnessed certain things. I went to one of the best publics and there was crossover IME, because of particular overlapping activities with some of the prestige privates. None of what’s alleged can shock the hell out of a student in Montgomery County, parts of Nova and the district from late 70s-early 90s.

Plus, she knew drinks were being spiked and gang rapes going on but she went back to 10 parties? Swetnick owes MD Comptroller $62K, presumably in back taxes. I don’t understand how she has been able to keep her security clearance. Things aren’t making sense.

Where does it say she graduated in 1980? I know her socially and there is no way she’s that old!

She is 55 and graduated in 1980. Use google if you don’t believe me.

What do you know about the $62K she owes in taxes? How does she still have a security clearance?

She doesn't owe anything in taxes.

According to MD Judiciary Case Search / Circuit Court Judgments and Liens, the Comptroller of Maryland entered a judgment against her on 10/2/15 for $62,822.03. It does not show it was satisfied.

According to the previously cited Post article https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/who-is-julie-swetnick-the-third-kavanaugh-accuser/2018/09/26/91e16ed8-c1bc-11e8-97a5-ab1e46bb3bc7_story.html?utm_term=.7384d299bc73 it was satisfied.

I can’t believe the lengths people here go to to slime the victims.

From her statement it seems they were “house parties” but were not necessarily HS parties (unclear), and that she went until she herself became a victim.

No. She said she was raped in '82 but went to parties '82-'83.

So young people should never go to a party again if something bad happens? I mean, I can understand not wanting to, but that's an individual decision. I fell off a balcony during Beach Week and broke my ankle, but that didn't stop me from going back the next year for more stupid partying.

No, you don’t go back to the same parties with the same people who are supposedly still drugging and raping girls. No way, no how.

According to MD Judiciary Case Search, the judgment was entered but no evidence it was satisfied. Normally if a judgment is paid, the site indicates it. I’m not saying the Washington Post is wrong, but it is inconsistent with the case search site.

According to WaPo, she does not currently owe any taxes.

When were they paid?

Since Ford is afraid to fly, did she begin her cross-country drive 5 days ago?

When you went to a party back then, you had no idea who was going to be there. Read the piece in slate by the NCS grad. Read the piece in Vanity Fair about the Holton grads.

there are news articles about it and there are sexual assault survivors all over twitter sharing their stories and talking about how hearing all of this - right down to the victim blaming like on this very thread (when were her taxes paid? no way someone goes back to a party) and how painful it is.

A lot of people - men and women are coming out and sharing their own stories.

Kavanaugh is going to bring down the republican party.

Separate from Kavanaugh's who-me? skeletons in the closet over multiple sexual assault allegations, there's his skeevy financial picture. Who settled this douchebag's debts last year? It wasn't him.

RNC dark ops? The Kochs? As with so much with Kavanaugh, the facts don't align with what he claims. #liar

She also had her polygraph done in MD on Aug. 7. Wondering if she flew or drive. I know she was vacationing on the east coast during this time, according to the letter she gave to Feinstein.

The state and the county can be way behind in recording his stuff. I just got a property tax bill addressed to the former owners for a house I bought a year ago.

Give me a date, location, and a corroborating witness, and I'll start listening.

I doubt those exist for the transgender people. They probably just want to pee. So, maybe we can go ahead and let them use the bathrooms without worrying about it.
And, to be fair, I guess we can let Mark Kavanaugh keep peeing in the public restrooms too. But, let's not give him a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.

I agree with this. Kavanaugh can pee in public restrooms but no seat on the SC.

That seems a reasonable compromise.

The Wapo tracked him down hiding in Bethany.

Ahhh, Sussex Shores. Check it--he's probably in Kav's house, the coward.
