Missing college student in the Dominican Republic from Ashburn

Have you...:never been drunk???

You remember bits and pieces of your evening after vomiting and prior to passing out.

Did the young man's friend get to leave Dominican? Did authorities withhold him too?

There is an awful lot of missing time between the bits and the pieces (speaking as someone who has blacked out a few times). Your brain reconfigures memories beause it is trying to fill in the gaps.

Has anything similar happened to other US citizens in the DR where they were kept as a witness for an extended time period?

That is possibly why they kept him this long thinking he can recollect.

They can't just hold him until he "recollects" something.

+1. Even the stuff he thinks he remembers is probably rubbish. This is a good ole boy from the Midwest, a lifeguard. He’s not some serial killer. People have lost their damn minds.

I can’t imagine letting my girlfriend get blackout throw-up drunk and letting her leave with a man we just met. And then shrugging off that she was missing the next morning? No, just no. Those are terrible friends.

Agree. The recent videos show she was in no position to consent. That is when friends take you home. And when real men take you home instead of trying to get some action (technically it is rape).

He was also in no state to consent to anything she did to him.

He is twice her size.

And ALIVE.

You hysterical hyenas.!

There is NO evidence he did anything to her but the shite you make up is disgusting.

She very likely drowned with him having nothing to do with it.

How do you sleep at night knowing you are making up things about something you know nothing about? Did you ever consider that you are wrong and he is an innocent young man?

They are all trying to deflect away from her worthless “friends” and her own bad decisions that day and night. This wasn’t some babe in the woods kid, she’s an adult woman.
Thank you for clarifying the situation. Given the sensitivity and the gravity of the circumstances, here's a response that directly addresses the unjust attacks on the victim while calling for decency and respect for the deceased:

---

To those of you attacking a woman who can no longer defend herself: Your behavior is shameful and disgusting. The fact that you are so quick to blame a dead victim, without any concrete evidence to support your claims, only speaks to your cruelty and ignorance.

Sudiksha Konami is no longer here to tell her side of the story, yet you choose to vilify her in her absence. This is not just about spreading lies—it's about dishonoring her memory and refusing to show basic human decency.

Until there is proper investigation and evidence, it's unjust to tear down someone who cannot speak for themselves. The young man involved is a suspect, and until proven otherwise, he should be treated with the same fairness and respect everyone deserves in the face of such a tragedy.

Take a moment to reflect on your actions. Are you truly spreading truth, or just hate? The world doesn't need more blame without evidence—what we need is justice, compassion, and the courage to hold off on judgment until we know the full story.

Just clarifying: Is Konami one of the "girlfriends"?
And to be clear: there has been no suspect named in this case.

He's not been named a suspect by any law enforcement (only in dcumland).
Is Konami the childhood friend?

The last name of missing person: Konanki

Is Konami the friend?

Please read news

I haven't seen Konami named - thus the question if she's one of the boat day-trippers?

Is this a troll? Read the news to find out name of missing person. Maybe a news article will answer your questions if a 800 page discussion thread hasn't.

I know Sudiska's name and it is not Konami. Know-it-all pp named Konami and I'm asking if she's one of the girlfriends or who?

Isn't Konami the japense game company that brought us contra and silent hill

Parents are asking that she be declared dead. They also seem to be saying JR should be let go. So sad.

That's fine, but I am not a fan of the parents acting like some authority figure for the DR police and detention of the American. They don't get to decide anything even by request. The American should have been set free way before this letter.

Can anyone think of any case where the family has made a death declaration request so early?

Wonder if this links to them leaving after only 3 days?

Are they Hindu? Is this some religious or Indian culture thing?

They have no power over the Ribe situation at all.

Story gets stranger by the day.

Is this some shame/honor thing?

Why did they leave DR so quickly?

Has not even been 2 weeks and they want her legally declared dead? Is it about money somehow or they feel shamed/dishonored?
Anonymous
Can any of the Indian culture posters speak to this letter and why it may be so soon?

Outrageous that he’s been held so long. That it takes the parents of the victim to be the first to step up and encourage his release?

I was looking at news and surveillance video shared.

1. In the resort bar, her friends seem to be talking to a man in white shirt and there are two other men besides him one in white and one in black with a cap. Did the authorities check on who they were and what conversations hapoened.

2. In the surveillance video of friends retur in from beach there were two men walking towards the beach one in white shirt and one in black. Were they the same men in the bar..did they go to the beach

3. Did the authorities check with hotel guests who were the ones who went to the beach early morning. Did they see the person of interest sleeping on the chair.

4. Can the authorities find out active cell phones in that beach area during that time..the authorities seem to be focusing on o by the person of interest. They should find more people in the vicinity of that group on that day. Maybe that might help.

Hope they find the missing girl. Prayers for her.
