This post won't age well. |
What do you have differently. Maybe SJC over GC but I see DM winning it |
It’s the Dcum way. Provide criticism but not alternatives. |
Tourney and Off-Season Predictions
IAC: Landon's to lose Bears win easy over StA, Bullis wins not quite as easily over Prep in the semis. The Bears' coaching and confidence will likely carry them to back to back clean IAC championships. Despite graduating a great 2024 class, they have put together another great season on the shoulders of excellent faceoff play and full-field pressure. Bullis can upset them, but it would be tough. Landon 11, Bullis 8 WCAC: SJC Silences Critics Expect chalk until the semis. SJC wins over GC on better top-to-bottom talent and coaching. DeMatha keeps the strong season going against Gonzaga. Speaks quiets some criticism with a close win over DeMatha. SJC 12, DeMatha 9 Offseason Coaching Changes Is this the year the Prep rumors go beyond rumors? Is Bellistri ready to move to his next chapter after graduating this strong senior class? Any other possibilities? DCUM Forums Uncivil and nonsense commentary continues to outweigh actual discussion. People read way too much into summer tournaments in June. |
This is thoughtful and reasonable. Don’t have much to disagree with, though the coaching changes thoughts are a little thin. There, unsolicited critique of a mildly solicited take. Re uncivil or whatever - it’s an anonymous forum fed by the over privileged to the over indulged about their offspring, who are both. You can wish differently, but, unlike the predictions you’ve made, it’s irrational to expect it. |
I don’t think DeMatha will get by the winner of Gonzaga / PVI game. Dematha has had some lucky games and their luck is going to run out. sJC has the easiest path to the championship game. |
REGARDING the IAC: I think STA plays Landon tough on Tuesday and gives them more than they can handle for 2+ quarters before Landon's depth wears them down. STA, as of late has been playing better and punches above their weight. The Bullis - Prep rematch should be very interesting. Urick and his staff need to silence the critics, and what better way to do it then knock off a team who thumped you less than 2 weeks ago. Which Prep team will show up on Tuesday? The ones who beat Good Counsel pretty soundly or the on the squad who was ran off the field by the Bears last week. Regarding the WCAC, is there a link for the playoff bracket? It will come down between DeMatha's seniors vs an up-coming SJC squad who is playing really good lacrosse right now. The Cadets took it to Gonzaga last Friday in the 2nd half and their scoring was well distributed. |
Gonzaga will play its best week of lacrosse and show that God is purple.
GZ over SJC in final. DeMatha and GC are new to this level of playoff pressure and the experience of SJC and GZ will prevail. |
Good predictions. WCAC will be more controversial than IAC, but I concur. |
Pretending to take the high road - "DCUM forums are uncivil" - while speculating about a coach's job and livelihood is on brand for the lax dad who hides behind his keyboard. |
Speculating about a job isn't rooting for an outcome or rooting against a coach; nowhere does it say "I hope Prep makes a coaching change." Prep has had a tough season, that's an objective fact. Prep alumni are difficult to please, also a fact. These can lead to coaching changes, wait for it... Also a fact. |
Stating opinions as a fact is not a fact. Prep had a good season considering they've gone with a freshman goalie, 2x2027's at attack and a bunch of other juniors and sophomores getting significant playing time. This board also says the alumni are difficult and that's another opinion as it's a blanket statement covering all alumni. The fact is GP has had 3 coaches in 36 years and one of the coaches was a quick interim due to Giblin's departure (ahem). This is an opinion. With the graduation of the really good senior classes at Bullis and Landon, GP will be right back on top of the IAC next year. |
Only if they learn how to pass and pay attention to the shot clock. But no one rational doubts the horses. It’s the rider. |
Prep also graduates a fair number of seniors who start. |
