Savannah Guthrie’s mom is missing, suspect kidnapping

I have her book about her relationship with God. I’ve only read about half of it. Very “food for thought” kind of thing. It was just what I needed at the moment when I bought it. I do hope her faith in God is helping her through this never-ending nightmare.

I’m 53 and know of her because of NBC evening news campaign coverage - I think she did at least one town hall with Trump where she was pretty hard on him. I’ve never watched the Today Show though. She does not seem famous enough to me to be targeted like this, but I do have a pretty large umbrella insurance policy and one of the renewal questions is whether you’re famous/a public figure (not sure of wording) so this is definitely a thing.

All it takes is one person who’s obsessed/a stalker … doesn’t matter how well known she is by the general public if the wrong person gets obsessed, unfortunately.

I'm 50 and have definitely heard of her. Don't watch the show. I'm sure people in town know who she is, she grew up there.

I don’t think it is crazy that some person might be obsessed with Savannah. Even some regular people get stalkers. It wouldn’t be surprising at all if someone who’s job it is to be relatable on TV everyday has someone who gets weirdly obsessed.

It seems very bleak at this point. They have hardly any forensic evidence. No clues that we are aware of. All we have is that video. And a random glove far from the crime scene. It’s been 12 days. Everyone makes fun of the kidnapper for looking like an amateur, well, he seems to have done the job and not left a trace. I am so sorry this has happened and my heart goes to the Guthrie family. I will say the FBI, led by Kash Patel, is probably a disaster and bungled it.

I watch regularly. The head anchors are real journalists. Savannah has done sit downs with Presidents and she also run the election nights. Most of her interviews are usually with politicians.

I don’t think Savannah is a household name and if a stalker was obsessed, wouldn’t they wait to kidnap her in NY? Why would they want her mom?

I get the feeling Annie and tomasso are bad seeds who were stewing about Savannah’s success for quite a long time

I know a woman whose daughter was kidnapped at age 17 (now 30 years ago). Disappeared without a trace. Never had a solid lead.

It really is as awful as you think. You never get closure, you never stop looking out the window and hoping that you'll see them walk up to the house.
