So you left out 2026? |
|
Everyone fighting about who is better is unhinged. Life is about personal experiences and choices. Everyone will have a different experience and therefore a different view on which team is better.
And guaranteed VLC puts their teams in elite to attract players whether they deserve the “status” or not. People want to say their kid is elite. That’s the reason everyone went to the club to start. Kudos to VLC for reading parents like a book. Now that the teams blew up they have to go elsewhere so now people are Championing a club they wouldn’t have considered before and probably made fun of before. This is comical. Both clubs have value. Go figure out which is best for your kid. |
You have totally lost perspective on youth sports. The point of club lax before highschool is skill development and fun. Neither of those goals are accomplished trotting out a mid-level VLC to play top ranked opponents. All that accomplishes is to discourage and demoralize the VLC players. I assume you work for VLC as that is the clueless drivel I got from them. Btw do you think VLC 27, 28 or 29 will ever be a top 20 team. Probably not. Why? because all those teams blew up last year and the year before because they were no fun to play on. VLC learn the lesson! |
So is your contention is that True Nova 31 team would have beaten some of the 2031 elite teams? Or is that they would not have been outscored 71-24? Since True 31s won the AA Division, they'll get a chance to jump to at least AAA, but with the talk on this board, they should go right to the Elite division. VLC 31 and Kelly Post finished 1/2 in AAA 2023, both moved up to elite (KP as Predators). I would expect to see Madlax DMV and FCA moved up to Elite in 2025. |
Yes because I was responding to the poster who touted the 2026 ranking and specified what it was. Try to keep up |
And many of those kids will not get a sniff from the "top college coaches" save for maybe 1 or 2 that go to PVI, if even that. This is the most delusional group of lax parents out there. As far as trust the process, it's an overused cliche. As far as VLC, what I never hear is WHAT the process is. Blindly believing a slogan is foolish and dangerous. |
I believe the contention is that VLC is a bad value for money. That the VLC insistance on entering in elite brackets means that kids who go in loving lacrosse go out dreading it. Again if VLC has a requirement to play elite tournaments that’s fine if they also play some tournaments that they are actually competitive at. |
| Lots of VLC defenders in here. Truth hurts for them. |
| If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a thousand times - VLC is a dumpster fire on a sinking ship. |
It was mostly tongue n cheek in the mythical match-up that would occur and the elite and AA results for both teams just means they are likely closer in talent then most suspect. As for HOCO next year for teams, there are still tons of moving parts. Yes, I wouldn't be surprised that True NOVA 2031 moves up to AAA. Unless there is some exemption, HOCO rules state that a club can't have 2 teams in the same division (maybe there is an exemption for elite) so I'd be skeptical ML-DMV moves up to elite even if they deserve it. FCA could certainly be moved up even with the championship results. There is also lots of moving parts in other programs. VLC is almost assuredly moving down. The same results happened last year to the VLC-See team for the 2029s and that team imploded with kids moving over to True Cheseapeke and True NOVA. |
| Look if you live in Arlington or Fairfax it makes no sense to choose VLC over True. True is better in every category that matters to players and their families. VLC is simply going to take the position that was once occupied by CAVs. |
that would be a massive upgrade. |
| Back to Cavalier Park! Home of Champions! |
All VLC teams practice at George Mason University, why would it not make sense for a Fairfax kid to join them? |
VLC try-outs are at Independence HS and George Mason. Also, I think the Cavs lacrosse fields were sold. |
