Feedback on VLC Club Lacrosse?

That’s not to say that there is not a place for VLC. If you look a the thread on the 28 class it filled with unhappy parents. Without VLC there’s not enough spots for all of the DMV lax players. Either VLC steps up or Black wolf needs to come back

Blackwolf needs to die out.

You’re not the only person I’ve heard say that. What’s wrong with that club?

What’s the problem?

No it isn’t. Last years true Baltimore black moved over to Preds. The true green team moved up to black but lost their best players to teams like 91.

So the big win your are talking about is over kids that were at best practice players on Baltimore Green team last year. Try again.

Everything you said - whatever practice squad sounds like your story. Until they meet in hoco, I am not sold that True Nova is the better team.

Also what about 2030-2032? What about your entire up and coming youth program? Those 3 VLC teams can whoop all 3 True nova teams.

Quit trying to argue an entire program of ~10 years over 1 inconclusive year of 2029.

Nice try, try again.

So wanted to follow up on this post from the fall to see where True and VLC would match up.
At the 2029 level VLC and True NOVA Black didn’t meet but we can probably figure out the results since the TRUE 29 team won the AAA title and VLC didn’t make the AA playoffs.

At the 30 age group True beat VLC in the AA championship game.

No match up at the 31 level. VLC got hammered in the Elite division and True won its AA division.

The True NOVA hype is out of control. VLC 31 showed up in the 31 Elite division and fought each week. Took some lumps but good for them for competing at the top level. Would love to see True NOVA step up to the elite 31 division.

lol, VLC 31 got crushed week in and week out in elite, there was no competing. Even Team 91 beat them. VLCs best players seen at Madlax practices.

You have it backwards. It’s time for VLC to step down to AA where they will hopefully be able to compete

Agree. VLC’s refusal to place their teams in appropriate brackets was a major factor in the implosion of their 28 & 29 teams. I can’t understand why VLC is determined to force their teams to compete with teams they have no business playing with.

I am sure that some parents do not want to step down and VLC is trying to keep everyone happy. I am not saying this is correct, but that could be a reason.

Joseph S. Trigiani, 26, pleaded guilty in May, 1998 to charges of child abuse and of committing a sexual offense against a teenage girl.... 13yo girl, an 8th grade girl.

Only way this guy can be near kids is coaching for his own club, Blackwolf. No one else will have him because he cant pass background check

You might be right - but as a former VLC victim I can tell you watching your kid get crushed in game after game all summer is a demoralizing experience for player and parents alike. That fall we tried to tell VLC that while we didn’t mind a couple of reach tournaments they had to mix in at least a couple that our kids could actually compete in. They turned us down flat.

That blew up the team. Interestingly, a bunch of those boys have gone on to play at DCE and Madlax and have had a lot of success. The problem was even though we had several kids who were elite or nearly elite players. Most of the kids were average to good. So as a team we didn’t belong in AA brackets,

Learn the lesson VLC.

It always surprises me that club directors think this is a successful strategy for young teams, as if elite players looking for a new home are going to pick a team that went 0-8 in HoCo the year prior and got outscored by 75 goals. Better of building up from AA, AAA, etc.

For those that realize that HOCO scores really don't matter, the 2026 team is ranked top 20 by US Club lax and will be playing in front of all the top college coaches this summer. Trust the process.

by the time your son is a rising 11th grader, which is what 2026's are, then yes, HoCo scores are ancient history and don't matter. But if you are in 7th and 8th grade (or younger) and trying to decide which team is the best path to success, they matter a lot.

and for historical context, the 2026 VLC parents are probably the most demanding, entitled, self-important, profanity screaming, un-self aware, d-bag bunch over the last 10 years of DMV lacrosse. this is the basically the Indy HS group. Trust me, back in grades 5 to 8, if their snowflakes were getting killed every week in HoCo and going 0-8, they would not have shrugged it off and said "HoCo scores don't matter."

VLC 2026 team is ranked 15 and lost to lower rank NL 2026. The rankings are based off fall ball and that is not the really an indication of how good there are. How did VLC do last summer? VLC will have a new coach this summer and will perform about the same or slightly better. VLC would lose to Madlax team that is mostly made up for STAB kids who took it to PVI this spring and the INDY kids don't add anything. The original Madlax mostly moved over to NL and few to DCE.

Also, agree with PP on the historical context.

VLC 2025: Ranked 103
VLC 2027: Ranked 91
VLC 2028: unranked
VLC 2029: Ranked 147
VLC 2030: Ranked 151

Overall Club Rankings: 71

Trust the process.

It isn't hype when you are posting facts and it was more attribute to the PP that stated they weren't sold on whether True NOVA Black (I think specifically the 29s) were better. So I wanted to provide the answer for them.

But I'll fix the opinion part of my post i.e. "hammered"

"No match up at the 31 level. VLC's 31 team playing in the elite division went 0-7 scoring 24 goals over those 7 games and giving up 71 goals over those 7 games. True 31s won the AA Division with a GF/GA or 52/39
