Yup.

I think there will be an actual impeachment effort if it happens, and ultimately? May take a year or more but Kavanaugh may not only not be a Supreme Court Judge, he won’t ever get a teaching gig outside of Liberty or Ave Maria.

Haha haha - keep thinking that.

Can't imagine who would take his class

Someone interested in being taught by a brilliant jurist?

You don't know anything "with certainty" at this point in your career as you no longer have a security clearance and as far as we all know you are not part of the FBI investigation. Please correct me if I am wrong.
It is all speculation and based on other sources - correct? Have you been in on the FBI briefings about the investigation?
I don't claim to have any wisdom but you do without any qualifications to back it up. Just admit that you are speculating based on what you have read. You have no personal knowledge of anything on the investigation.
I admit I know nothing. Can you do the same or are you to proud to admit it?

What I am telling you is that my personal experience undergoing a background investigation was more stringent than the one that Kavanaugh just underwent. Why are you discounting my experience? You, by your own admission, have no similar experience. Moreover, anyone who has been in DC any length of time has probably been contacted by the FBI as part of someone else's background investigation. I have been contacted multiple times (and even more times by non-FBI investigators). Ignoring obvious leads is just not normal. Why is that hard for you to understand?

+1 Jeff, don't feed the stupid trolls. It just encourages them.

NP here - isn't this just a supplemental to the original background investigation, which presumably was quite thorough?

Yup. The PP doesn’t seem to grasp that.

I'm sure they can find that brilliant jurist, but if won't be Kavanaugh.

The last time a Democratic nominee to the Supreme Court by a majority Republican Senate was 1896 when Grover Cleveland nominated Rufus Wheeler Peckham. So the people who claim that conservative judicial nominees are so mistreated by Democrats can just STFU.

Can you tell me how many Democratic nominees have been made to a majority Republican Senate and failed confirmation since 1896?

I don't have that information. I do know that Garland didn't get the consideration from the Republicans that the Democrats gave Thomas.

That information is possible to find. If you're going to spout off a factoid like it's relevant, don't you think you should confirm that it is, in fact, relevant? Otherwise, you're letting your blatant partisanship lead you astray. The truth is your factoid doesn't say anything except that in the past 100 years it's been mostly Republicans nominating Justices to the Supreme Court. Unfortunately, people won't read it like that, just like you apparently didn't.

It is true that Garland didn't make it out of committee. I think that was a mistake, since he could have easily been voted down if the Republicans felt that was the principled move, and they didn't present any reason beyond "we don't want a Democrat making the nomination" for not moving him out of committee. Blatant partisanship.

And the Democrats have continued the dance. The "Biden rule" wasn't a real rule. And yet the Republicans acted as if it was. And then the Democrats tried to extend it by arguing it should apply to all election periods, not just Presidential. And I'm sure, whether or not Kavanaugh is confirmed, the Democrats will continue the "Biden rule" (but they'll call it something else, no throwing Biden under the bus, that only works for Republicans ... probably the McConnell rule?) when it comes to open seats in the 2 year period Presidential elections when they have the power to do so. It's criminal, and they should all stop.

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/409810-alum-faculty-and-students-at-fords-alma-mater-take-out-full-page-ad

Alumni, faculty and students at the University of North Carolina on Wednesday took out a full-page advertisement in the school's student newspaper to support fellow alumna, Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault.

The ad, which ran in The Daily Tar Heel, states in bold letters, "We believe and support UNC alumna Dr. Christine Blasey Ford." It is signed by almost six hundred UNC community members.

Ford has publicly accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her at a high school party in 1982. She testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week about her allegations, which Kavanaugh has denied vehemently.

Honestly, who care what a bunch of lefty law professors thinks? Most of them fall into the “if you can’t do, teach” category.

So how are you going to dismiss the National Council of Churches? So much for conservative family values...sexual assault and supporting the nominee that the Jesuits and the National Council of Churches have disavowed.

I know, right? And Kavanaugh was one of these lefty law professors up until just a couple day ago, when Harvard fired him.

The Pope hasn't spoken. The rest is just noise.
