Is there any reason to dislike Herschel Walker?

“who he is??” Please elaborate.

NP. He's the son and victim of an abuser and a liar. He's been abused most of his life and he needs to find a way to get out from the shadow of that abuse. He's working on it by his public admissions.

I personally wish him well and hope he finds some peace for himself. And I hope his father doesn't win. In addition to the many other reasons, Herschel Walker's win would be devastating to his tortured family.

It took a lot for Christian Walker to make those videos. He held it in for a long time. I really have a lot of respect for him. It's so sad. Too bad Donald Jr. cannot confront his past and reconcile with it instead of doing drugs and being so messed up. He too is the victim of so many lies.

Is any of this going to budge the electorate?

I'm pretty sure the news about Herschel this week will make many of his R "family values" supporters like him even more.

Herschel Walker was an outstanding and much beloved UGA football player who rose to stardom after growing up in a small rural community with few opportunities for anyone, especially if Black. I think voters will cut him a lot of slack.

I think many that vote for him will relate to his hypocrisy, more than they're willing to overlook his hypocrisy.

He did; that’s what abortion is; Jesus forgives.

Jesus isn't a citizen and can't vote. Herschel paid a hit man to murder his own baby. We don't elect such people to the Senate.

We are on the same side/ abortion is murder

Let’s elect pro life candidates.

Walker is now pro life.

He lies about everything though.

There are no absolutes in religion.

Lying for the Lord is no sin.

Wait, what? You think lying is all good as long as it’s “for the Lord”? Seriously? That’s messed up.

I think the Lyin' for the Lord poster is likely a troll, but here's a relevant thread anyway:

Christian Walker is messy af. He's maga to the core. His twitter is chapter and verse trumpism. Excepting his recent tweets about his father, of course.

Cutting him some slack and making him a US Senator are two different things. The Republican Party’s support for Walker is so cynical. He is in no way qualified or capable or even a semi decent person. He’s just a black man with name recognition who is a MAGA, and apparently that was enough to run him against Warnock.

DP. I agree, but the kid is 23 I think? He's had a rough life in many ways, but a privileged life in others, and seems to be working to reconcile it all publicly while still figuring out who he is.

Herschel has a long, documented history of violence and general shittiness as a human being. It's good that Christian is outing some of his father's awful traits, but even without them there's plenty to work with as being unfit for public office. It's the best the GA GOP can do, and it's gross.

The kid will figure out himself in time, and going public about his father is likely helpful in that.

He’ll be a guaranteed vote for whatever the Republican Party wants for the next six years. Come on GA, this is for SIX YEARS! Get out and vote. This sh*t is serious.

I gotta say, if I found out a candidate had paid for a murder, I would not vote that candidate. Murder is not something I cut slack for.

Yeah but you know the "pro-life" liars actually don't believe abortion is murder. Evey they themselves know they're full of shit. They just think women need to be controlled, and lying is what you do to get what you want. So Herschel is a-ok by them.
