Like come on. Do we have any idea whether there was self-selection there? We know that 94% of the 44% who decided to answer were vaccinated. Do we know anything about the other 66%? Because that's a lot.

Some states like Maine are going to start regularly publishing data on how many teachers and students are vaccinated. DC should do this too.

ES Teacher here. I agree with PP about getting all teachers and staff in schools vaccinated. This is for the kids who can't be vaccinated.

I appreciate this sentiment. This is the community attitude we all need to have on the vaccine and other measures. Just be good humans who care as much about other humans as we care about ourselves. Lordy how many things would be different if everyone had your attitude.

I have no clue who of my colleagues is vaccinated. I haven't seen most of my colleagues in person in 18 months. I wouldn't have the first clue who to pressure and how to reach them right now.

I care about everyone who can getting vaccinated bcause that is the public health solution. Masks and testing are mitigation strategies that are important but don't achieve the same goal as mass vaccination.

Because vaccination is much more effective than masks plus testing.

It’s not as good protection as vaccination, not even close. Why wouldn’t you use the best prevention method available to you?

Also, while I understand the need for masks in school right now, I do think they inhibit learning. The only way we’ll ever be able to have school without masks is if everyone who can vaccinate does.

Please get vaccinated. I did, and while it wasn’t fun, I’m so glad I did. I really wish my kid could get vaccinated. If she could, we would go it to help protect you, too.
