Mandatory vaccines for teachers/staff and eligible students

Other teachers unions have made their vaccination numbers public. Probably safe to assume WTU is fighting to keep its numbers secret because they are bad.

We shouldnt have to be privy to jack to know the numbers. These are public employees whose salaries are paid by taxpayers. This data should be published as a matter of course.

That would be very interesting if this were the New York City Public and Charter Schools forum. I really don't know why it is so hard to stick to known facts. We don't know the vaccination rates of teachers. Similarly, we don't know about the non-teaching staff. We don't know about the students. We don't know about the students' families. When we send our kids to school we are going to be exposing them to risks. I'm not sure that jumping up and down and hollering about teachers and the WTU is the best way to address that risk.

We know that 44% of the teachers responded to the DCPS survey and 94% were fully vaccinated. If you want to use logic (i.e. math) to draw conclusions from that, be my guest.

You misread the data. Teachers are 10.9% of DCPS cases. Teachers are 15.1% of charter school cases and 18.7% of private school cases. So DCPS looks like it is doing pretty well comparatively. Other staff is the real issue in both DCPS and charters.

And statistics would tell us that we can't draw conclusions from that survey without the denominator.
