This doesn’t make sense to me. An R isn’t going to vote for something they disagree with to spite their party. The bigger risk is the moderate Rs retire and the crazy Rs can’t beat the Ds in upcoming elections.

Sure they will. They have in the past. There is actually common ground on lots of stuff but the party usually sticks with its own, for tactical reasons. If senators feel strongly enough about what is happening with the party and want to stop it, they will put pressure on McConnell to take their side by threatening to break ranks on things. It’s happened before.

I think you are talking about the Dems here.

Time for her to put her big girl pants on, fly right, and get to work; or not, continue to act like a nut job and eventually get tossed out on her petard. Actions have consequences and quite frankly this is the least of the consequences she deserves.

Since the next question is who were the eleven, here they are. REALLY surprised by Malliotakis who is also seriously crazy IMO.

Her district includes some heavily Russian-Jewish areas of South Brooklyn. The anti-Semitic winks and nods are just too much for any Tristate area politician, regardless of party.

Did she abstain? There was one abstention in the Cheney vote. I wonder if that was Greene?
