The sad part is it changes quickly. By 10 most Black boys are seen as threatening and at that age they really don’t have the capacity to think through the intricacies of every situation. That is why you gave yo start teaching them self preservation early.

He is a smart, proactive man. I think we should all follow his example to deter the entitled off leash dog owners. I am so damn tired of them in Alexandria. And it's always been an issue, long before the (many, many) dog parks were closed.

Apparently the man was on a bicycle which is also violating the rules. Racism goes to Waze

All I know is if a man of any race threaten to do something to me that I would not like in a secluded area the park I would’ve gotten hysterical too. There are lots of crazy people in New York and someone trying to give your dog a treat or threatening to do something you’re not going to like is a threat and she responded inappropriately may be over the top but she was threatened and react accordingly calling her Karen doesn’t help the race division in this country either it would be like calling every black male perpetrator a Jamal or every black female perpetrator Lakisha it’s wrong. Maybe we should all focus on unity not division maybe this pandemic is way bigger than race and destroying our country and maybe we all need to band together instead of acting like idiots

He had a bike helmet. Didn't see anywhere that he was riding a bike instead of walking with it, if it was with him.

Maybe we need to use sentences and periods.

Someone recently posted a video on here of a black woman throwing trash out a window and when a person asked her to pick it up she gave him the finger should we have made that video go viral and call her Lakisha that’s my point stop causing racial divisions everything is not about race an idiot had a dog with the leash and another idiot decided to take an opportunity to go on Instagram and go viral they both idiots

Why did he want to feed the dog?

Karen was wrong to not follow the posted signs. Tyrone was wrong to interfere by giving the dog treats. Tyrone should have called the park authority or police re the leash.

When the woman called the police she said the man was on a bike so maybe he was walking it maybe he wasn’t

The only one blameless in this incident is that poor dog.

1) He didn't threaten her at ALL
2) He offered the dog a treat. That's legal. You know what's not legal? Letting your dog off leash. And you know what would have prevented him from offering the dog a treat? Following the law in the first place.

I feel as though you're lacking in empathy, big time. The woman is solely to blame. SHE is the instigator, by being the lawbreaker. SHE is the one who had zero interest in "unity" by ignoring the law in the first place (not to mention spiraling way beyond that)

I think he was giving treats to the dog to lure it out of the bushes where it was disrupting the birds.

There was no reason for him to approach her and video it so he was setting up the situation and zero respect for him. She handled it very badly but has a right to feel threatened by recording her.

Recording someone is not a threat. Maybe just a threat when a black man does it?

According to his own post, he told her "Look, if you're going to do what you want, I'm going to do what I want, but you're not going to like it." Then he produced a dog treat -- because apparently he walks around with dog treats "I carry for such intransigence" and called for her dog to come to him.

I do believe she grossly overreacted and should not have had the dog offleash, let alone called the police and told them she feared a black man.. However, I also believe this man may have a chip on his shoulder and went looking for trouble. And I "I'm going to do what I want, but you're not going to like it" could clearly be perceived as a threat and calling over the dog could be perceived as either an attempt to abduct or poison the animal.
I also believe that the people on Twitter whose first reactions were to dox her and post where she is employed and call on Twitter to "do your thing" to get her fired (she has been placed on administrative leave" is a disgusting form of mob justice and if this lady would be justified in suing the hell out of anyone who encouraged that. I would.

You aren’t serious. I hope.
