LMVSC town hall

Look at the bright side LMVSC has never gotten this much action on this forum... (minus the SYC shake up) lol

And how is it the club’s fault that the kid isn’t enjoying the app.

Did anybody say it's the club's fault? No... I did see somebody ask a question though on if it cost anything and if it was paid via club fees. Do you want to take the time to answer that?

I have no clue how it was paid for, the comment came off as if it was somehow the club's fault. "he comment is 100% accurate as to what has become of the club:" how else would read it?

Not PP nor the one that posted the link. But could take it as LMVSC used to be an environment which players were excited because they love soccer not a struggle for the player to engage? This is why I’m worried about the academy. It doesn’t cater to the player, it caters to the system. Also, still haven’t seen anything more on this standardization thing.

From what I've seen it does not appear to be a reflection of the players at the club. Maybe it's just the app itself that the player does not like. I don't know the player nor the parent but I don't agree that a player not enjoying the app is a reflection of the player or types of players at the club. My DS doesn't love it or hate the app but he sometimes uses it as a resource to the additional work he does on his own and with his team.

I do appreciate your input. I'm just let down.

It took YEARS to get into CCL and they are not about to just throw it away with given time Lmvsc can be where it use to be but it takes time. The younger kids they have now will be good and will form new red teams
For now whoever is red just needs to take the punches and keep going forward

They CCL glory for LMVSC only lasted 5 years. The new Technical Directors don't have the pull the old director has in this area, as far as knowing the community and understanding the players. I think just like Annandale United FC left CCL and we took their spot, it is also time for us to do the same and move on...

Stop with the CCL talk, the club is not going to give it up, that's the only thing that keeps them somehow relevant in the soccer community. No one talks abut Annandale anymore, right?
Just like BRYC on the boys side, always at the bottom of CCL and nothing ever changed, Players left on their own.

So right now your choice is suck it up or leave.

Wow that was very transparent. "No one talks about Annandale anymore, right?" Why would we, parents of players, care if LMVSC was talked about? Honestly. We're paying for our kids to get developed and play soccer. We're not paid staff and therefore we do not care if people talk about us... which looks like that's the only thing you care about.

So who in the staff just wrote that comment? Lula? Jon? Lee? I'm pretty disgusted because it sure seems to be one of you. Coupling that with "Stop with the CCL talk" and "Suck it up or leave". Really shows your true colors. "Shut up and pay, or leave".

Would be ironic if Annandale/Villareal and LMVSC merged to save each other. Shocked to see so much internal LMVSC hate going public. From outside it seemed to be one of the better clubs.

We were, but everything changed. We knew so much of the staff left, but we didn’t realize so many of the players were. We were told everything is fine, even though it wasn’t. I remember the email before tryouts started—should’ve seen that as a red flag. Not this year.

I saw SYC post that they will be giving 25% in refunds or 30% credit. Don’t they play in the same leagues? Are they a more trustworthy club now? WTF?

All the good coaches and good players, who had been together for many years, left to SYC and made it their new home. Their bond was stronger than a commitment to a Club. They didn't play in the same league but they will now since SYC will be playing CCL again.

So does that mean SYC will be the better club in the fall? I have to be honest LMVSC is super convenient to me, but SYC is just around the corner as well.

"Commitment to the club". I hear that a lot, but what about the club's commitment to the players? Are they making the best decisions in interest of the players, their futures? I think no... every change looks to be a bettering for them.
- Staying in CCL which we're not competitive in hindering game development (which LMVSC said was pinnacle); costs us more money as well
- Going to academy system; sorry but it looks like just easier to schedule
- Not joining NCSL because 'it's harder for the coaches to manage their schedules' (see above); this one is really bad because already this year, multiple coaches will have CCL and NCSL teams

Feel free to reread this threat but those are just some of the points.

PP here. "every change looks to be bettering for them." "them" means Lmvsc's staff and coaches, NOT the players

This is a little unfair, managing resources is key to reducing costs. Now, when costs are reduced, but fees go up, then it is fair to say there is a problem.

No refund, discount forward. Fees went up, others around us have stayed the same.

In total agreement here. It actually makes me sad that this is the case for LMVSC. It may not be considered a destination club but we were happy, the coaches have been great (minus the recent one) and the admin staff has been solid as well. Not sure why they are moving to this unproven model and what it is doing for them. Based off this and the town hall we are looking to make a change however I know they are going to have an additional town halll (per age group) to answer more questions. Might wait to see how this pans out but starting to queue up some other clubs to move to.

I am sad as well, but I won't wait, I am definitely out.

I just feel like I'm being taken for granted, like I'm just expected to fork over $2k. And after seeing things like "suck it up" and 'little Timmy can't hang'... well I guess i'm at the point where even the sense of community isn't even really true.

Whatever you decided is up to you and what's best for you and your kid, just beware that once you accept their offer for next year they won't let you back out of it. I know players last year who accepted the offer and paid but then changed their mind, didn't get their money back. Others, the Club refused to released their contracts and players soccer ID's to go somewhere else.
