There was a FULL HOUSE VOTE to establish the Benghazi committee. There were actual rules to break:

On May 8, 2014, the House voted 232–186 to establish the select committee, with 225 Republicans and 7 Democrats in favor, and 186 Democrats voting against.[1] The chairman of the committee was Representative Trey Gowdy from South Carolina.[2]

A select committee is different than an Impeachment. Why are you more concerned about this than the actual crimes being committed by the White House?

Trump released a summary transcript of the call. It illustrated a quid pro quo. The whistleblower complaint, the testimony head to date and the Chief of Staff all confirmed a quid pro quo. The irony, just asking for the help is illegal, one didn't need a quid pro quo to make it illegal. But the blatant shakedown of a foreign country in peril for personal gain is abhorrent.

Everything you have stated is a distortion of reality and is noise to the core issue. No one from the Administration is denying the facts. They are telling the American public that it is legal and to get over it. Even if Schiff met the whistleblower (he didn't) and even if someone from Schiff's staff went to Ukraine, it doesn't change the testimony and tweets that confirm the story.

If the facts bare out and the proceedings move the the next stage, then the transcripts will be released and the witnesses brought back for public testimony. This has been answered several times and yet it keeps being asked. Where you this upset when the Bengazi hearings also started with closed-door depositions?

Most of these "witnesses'" opening statements have already been made public. The public knows what they have said due to leaks.
Why can't we see the questions that were asked and their responses? Because..... they don't fit Schiff's narrative.
The Democrats learned from the Mueller testimony that open hearings don't work in their favor. Simple solution - make everything secretive.

With a vote, Republicans could call witnesses and the President could have counsel present. Why doesn’t Schiff want that if there are crimes being committed?
