Anyone know the score of the Sidwell Flint Hill game?

Sidwell has a completely non-athletic student body. That is why their football and lacrosse teams have always sucked.

You could hire Bill Belichik and it would not make a difference. In order to be competitive, you actually need some people with athletic skill.

Good one. You call someone else a football dummy when your team won one game all year long against "Maryland Freedom" and just lost by 42 points?

Yes,, football dummy. You don't understand the game, let alone children and school.

You are the stereotypical Sidwell mom in the sidelines running her mouth, 100% positive she can fix the football team.

42-0 to Maret. LOL.

No, football dummy, I am not. And there is nothing to fix. Some teams are better than others. But you are a football dummy, so no use trying to explain.

Sidwell has won more sports banners than GDS, Maret and St Albans combined over the past two years. Not everything centers on football and lacrosse. Calling the student body "non-athletic" is really ignorant, particularly in light of recent alumni in the pros (NFL and NBA) high division 1 basketball, football and many other sports as well as countless Division 3 athletes at top schools nationwide.

So based on your statement there are no sports at Sidwell doing well. I am interested in hearing about basketball and baseball.

What recent alum is in the NBA other than the ringer they paid to bring in in 10th and allowed to stay even though he was failing out?

Does anyone know how well the basketball or baseball teams did last year?

Their baseball team is much, much better than their football team. They went 4-18 and were the 11,883rd highest ranked team in the country. Their 4 wins were all in conference (2 vs St Andrews, 1 vs Maret and Potomac each).

Are you at all embarrassed that you follow a high school sports program so closely?

Why are people going on about Sidwell's football team or athletic program? I'm not being snarky - I'm honestly curious. My DD is a strong athlete and is still considering the school, because the draw for her is the academics, the values and the community. She understands SJC offers more competitive athletics but also recruits for every sport while Sidwell doesn't and as a result, they have very different students. Prospective students already know this and make choices based on their interests. Are kids applying to Flint Hill because the football team gave Sidwell a beat down? It looks like the football team won one game and lost the rest of the season by fairly large margins. Based on that, I would infer that football isn't a priority for the school, but enough kids want to play so the sport is still offered. But, I didn't hear the Sidwell Admissions Team complaining about a drop in applications so again, I'm assuming most kids already know about the football team before they apply, so what's the big deal?

I know one thing. The Sidwell girls probably have the second best basketball player in the region. She’s the female version of the “ringer”. I guess they paid her too.

You will start to see the tide change with Sidwell and GDS in regards to athletics. They have the academics on lockdown and now they can focus on athletic recruitment. It will be hard with only 30-40 slots a year. I would assume only 5 are designated for athletes.

Why would any be designated for athletes? Why do these schools recruit at all? I thought they were schools, not farm teams.

Common thread, same coach as football. Hopefully that will change soon.

Basketball team is the defending DC Champion, having beaten WCAC schools and Wilson along the way.
