Yes when some partisans have tried to do that every single day since Inauguration Day because they couldn't accept the outcome of the 2016 election.

He has been in violation of the constitution his whole time in office. Emoluments?

For the DT fangirl who keeps saying that the impeachment inquiry is going to deliver the House back to Republicans - didn't you promise that was already happening because voters were somad about how Democrats dared ask your beloved BK about the sexual assault accusations that were levied against him? Wasn't that already happening because of a thousand other things you swear are just so politically unpopular that voters are really going to turn against Dems this time - this time you've gone too far!

So what is it? Have we done a thousand things that voters hate - while Republicans are models of good governance - or is THIS really the thing?

He also acts like a Russian asset.

He also may have obstructed justice 11 times.

Get over it.

And yet, Pelosi does not want to have a vote to approve the inquiry!

Having a vote would just waste of time and money.

The corruption prior to the election made his presidency illegitimate. "Colluding" with Russia (see the Mueller report, despite Barr's suggestion to the contrary) make this evident. All of the obstruction, lying and pleading the Fifth merely codify it. Ukraine is a continuation of the same story, because it relates to Trump's campaign manager, who is in jail already for his actions. Yet, Trump has managed to follow through on some of Manafort's promises and is now trying to get justification to lift Russian sanctions and pardon Manafort.

One doesn't need to connect the dots. It is one big dot.

Having a vote will expose the GOP on the fence more than anything else. I don't know why you keep banging the drum on this, it only hurts the GOP. There are already enough dems and Amash who support this, to proceed. She is doing the GOP a huge favor by allowing the facts to be surfaced before getting the GOP on the record.

I always knew that Pelosi's greatest concern was to protect the GOP ...... she is unconcerned about vulnerable members of her party!

Hmm! It was Pelosi who said that she was aware of that risk when she gave the go ahead for the impeachment inquiry!

You should have impeached him a couple of years ago ......... not wait until we are a year away from the election.

Yes, we should have. But Republicans controlled the House and failed to uphold their obligation to the Constitution. As a result, they were voted out.

Maybe he should have stopped committing impeachable offenses the year before the election?

Oh, I see. So it’s just the timing that you don’t like? Okay.

We tried, but Republicans got in the way. So it's your fault

I'm not asking what Pelosi thinks. I'm asking what the DT fangirls think. Didn't you swear to all that is holy Republicans were *already* taking back the House because of ALL the awful things Dems have done?

Not the PP. I am not saying that Pelosi is trying to protect the republicans. She is trying to protect the process. If you force the republicans to go on record against the inquiry, then they will have a harder time voting to impeach after the case is fully formulated. If you don’t force them to declare now, they can watch the debate, the shifting public opinion etc and she will have a better chance (than currently) to peel off a couple of republican votes for a “bipartisan impeachment”. Once they cast a vote against the inquiry, there are sunk costs against even a few members casting a pro-impeachment vote. Vulnerable members of her own caucus have already put themselves on the line. They may pay for it. I hope their courage will be rewarded instead. But that cake is baked. We will see what happens when we cut the cake next year at election time.
