Funny.

My body my choice means I don't want to share bathroom with people with penises and biologically actually male.

No, that's not want it means. Any more than "my body, my choice" means "I don't want to have pizza for dinner tonight" or "I don't want to walk to the park, I'd rather drive."

My body my choice means I CHOOSE what to do with my body, and my DD for hers -- not some self-appointed SJW sexuality committee.

Well, sure. Nobody is going to pick you up, haul you into the bathroom, and plop you down on the toilet. If you don't want to use an all-gender bathroom, all you have to do is: not use it.

WHy can't we just leave the restrooms alone and if need be, build a bathroom near the school office, a unisex, single, small, Starbucks style bathroom with a toilet and sink inside?

My goodness, does nobody ever read the news report, even when it's posted right there in the thread?

They are not getting rid of all single-gender bathrooms. THEY ARE LOOKING INTO THE COSTS AND LOGISTICS OF ADDING SOME ALL-GENDER BATHROOMS. If you think that's an intolerable threat to girls and women, I don't know what to say.

Actually, according to the WTOP story, the woman who initially raised the issue seems to be proposing getting rid of all single-gender bathrooms. She is quoted as saying, "This means no girls’ rooms and no boys’ rooms — just restrooms".

In the article, MCPS talks about adding "more" (not "some") all-gender bathrooms. It is not specified if this would be a one-user room per school, having all bathrooms be all-gender or something in-between (all of which would qualify as more).

Logistically, I don't think MCPS will convert all existing single-sex bathrooms to all-gender bathrooms immediately. However, given the prevalent attitudes in this county regarding transgender issues and the momentum this movement has, I would actually be surprised if MCPS doesn't consider designing all future bathrooms so that they could be used as gender-neutral bathrooms.

Personally, I think it's a terrible idea. I think everybody should feel safe and be treated with respect. If they want to put a gender-neutral single-user bathroom near the office (or throughout the school), I think that's fine. However, I think any multi-user bathrooms need to be single-gender, regardless of how closed off individual stalls might be.

As a side note, to those who cite European single gender bathrooms - While I hate public bathrooms here and am often disgusted by the state of women's restrooms, the gender-neutral public bathrooms I saw in Europe on a recent trip were worse.

Fine. MCPS is talking about adding more all-gender bathrooms. Which means there are already are some, and the world has not come to an end. It's unlikely that the world will come to an end if they add some more.

This whole thread has been about boys becoming girls accessing girl bathrooms.

What about the reverse. Would girls becoming boys HAVE to use boys bathrooms, or can they choose?

This 100% and I agree I wouldn't be surprised if MCPS goes down the route you indicated. Our current BOE and Mont County Council members (with the exception of Craig Rice) are KOOKY.

No. The whole thread is about if schools only have unisex bathrooms, how much it with hurt the girls by having to use the same bathroom as boys.

People are not that much bothered by a few transkids.

And their genitals.

Not their DNA and their biology, though.

So girls are supposed to emerge from stalls with blood on their hands and on their pants in full few of boys and their peers as they go to the sink to get supplies to further clean themselves up in the stall? Got it! Yep, no hatred or accomadations for young girls here! Suck it up girls, no one in MCPS cares about your feelings, your mental health or privacy because there might MIGHT be a cross gender in your school. They have Carte blanche on feelings and rights!

That's one reason why there's toilet paper in the stalls?

Have you ever tried to clean off blood with dry toilet paper? Does it work? No. Can you still see the blood? Yes. Clear as day. It's like I'm surrounded by idiots. People can not be this stupid! It's like there is zero common sense in the pro communal bathroom pro trans anti woman crowd. Zip. Unbelievable. Every little thing has to be spelled out. It's like talking to children.

Uh..you should try harder. I have never had an issue and have never seen another woman have an issue. I am still trying to wrap my head around which system makes fewer people uncomfortable but your reasoning does not have any part of it.

+1 million. I cannot believe people are even thinking about this idea. How many times did I (and my daughter, I'm sure) ask a fellow woman in the common restroom area for a pad or tampon? Ask the woman in the stall next store for extra toilet paper? Stand in front of the sink trying to get blood out of pants so we could return to class? This happens all. the. time. Especially in middle and high school. Single stalls, even if the door is floor to ceiling, is not enough. I cannot believe there is even one woman who supports this idea.

She can still go to one of the many single sex bathrooms that will still exist in the school.

Also, rinsing blood out in the sink is gross. I'd recommend that be done in the nurse's office where she can ask for a Lysol wipe to clean it up afterwards.

So the girl should go to the nurse office to use the bathroom but they trans kid can't. Got it! Girls and women, you are second class citizens. Your rights matter less than a small minority. The liberal left needs you to fall in line and forgo your rights to bathroom safety and privacy for the greater good of a handful of people.

How is it that I can respect the Trans right to use our bathroom if they need to for privacy and safety but their community can't respect the girl's right to do the same and let us have bathrooms designated by sex not gender? Why? I support their decisions, why can't they support my cisgender daughter and other cisgender girls in same?

So the trans girl has to go to the nurse's office (or the boys' bathroom) but the cis girl can't go to the nurse's office...

Also, "it doesn't affect a lot of people" is an inadequate argument. Most people don't use wheelchairs. Facilities should still be accessible to people who do use wheelchairs.

So thousands of girls should give up there rights for a few? Let's be clear here. Just say it! Go ahead! Women and girls are second class citizens and should shut the hell up.about our needs! Just say it!!!!! Say what you really mean! Because if women don't start standing up for themselves and fast, we are on a ippery slope! Your hatred and disgust of women is palpable. And it is everywhere on this thread.

Agree completely

+2.

Ideological zealots couldn't care less about the vast majority of girls and women.

It's all about virtue signalling and the latest SJW crusade.

I could really care less if you and your daughters are going to have a meltdown over this.

Grow the F up. This is only an issue if you make it an issue. Go be outraged over something else.

You go F yourself you misogynistic jerk. I will continue to be outraged on behalf of my daughter and girls everywhere. I will not be silenced by your hate. If women don't start standing up for themselves, we are doing the next generation of girls an extreme disservice. I will stand for young girls, their rights to privacy and safety and won't shut down by some screwed up zealot.

Why don't you apply that outrage to something important? Why are you working so hard to make this into an issue? What are your underlying motives?

Because the safety and privacy of girls at their schools IS important. Girls are not second class citizens and they have rights. I can think if no other issue more important for women today than protecting and expanding those rights which are under attack from both liberal SJW and conservatives on a daily basis. This is example A. How are you so obtuse that you can not see what is clearly happening here? Women are under attack.

only by the pro-life nutters.

Funny.

My body my choice means I don't want to share bathroom with people with penises and biologically actually male.

What’s wrong with penises? They are just a part of the body.

If you are trying to protect women, hopefully you are fighting against the “pro-life” nutters.

Like I said, no common sense. "If it didn't happen to me personally then it can't happen to millions of other women and girls so therefore it doesn't happen and doesn't exist." Idiots
