Ironic that WaPo only reported the bank fraud, yet doesn't broaden the article with "unnamed sources" like the Russia angle. This was once a great paper that sought the truth, but now is a pawn of the left to be used to destroy a President who captured the flyover country with his fight back attitude.

Democrats now say that any access to sensitive information was “unauthorized.” But how hard could it have been to get “unauthorized” access when House Intelligence Committee Dems wanted their staffers to have unbounded access? In 2016, they wrote a letter to an appropriations subcommittee seeking funding so their staffers could obtain “Top Secret — Sensitive Compartmented Information” clearances. TS/SCI is the highest-level security classification. Awan family members were working for a number of the letter’s signatories.

I don't know whether you don't understand this letter or if you are purposefully attempting to misrepresent it, but that letter simply requests funding for background investigations. Clearance would only be granted if the individuals passed the background checks. I think it is safe to say that the Awans would be very unlikely to pass background checks for clearances at that level. There is nothing in that letter to suggests that the Awans received any clearances, let along top secret.

I am not misrepresenting rather pointing out (now bolded) that the Awan's were still working for several of these members of Congress at the time. Something is fishy and this letter wouldn't be drafted without approval of the ranking member (DWS). Cover perhaps?

The letter suggests the exact opposite of a cover-up. If you have employees with skeletons in their closets that you don't want revealed, the last thing you would want is for federal agents to be digging into their past and personal affairs.

that's a good point. the fact that these shady characters had these very prestigious jobs is still very puzzling.

The Awan's were already taking intelligence from the server for the purpose of "opposition research" and this letter gave them cover. Shame really as DWS didn't know that these crooks would never pass a background check. This will all come out in the pending indictment.

I thought military/DHS/Intel community provided The Hill with the staffers/enterns/fellows they needed with the proper clearance to support staffers. Did FAS rules change as a result of this request?

Meanwhile DWS brother Steve is a prosecutor with the DOJ. Nothing to worry about people, everything will just go away.

Seroiusly, there's 320 million people in the country and the Awans are the best the DNC could do for IT admins?

Wait - seriously??

Are you claiming that Debbie's actual brother is in charge of prosecuting Awan??

How is that NOT a conflict??!?

Wow, the Trumpkins are really desperate to cling to any crazy theory to distract from the Trumpster fire.

Seth Rich didn't pan out so moving on, huh?
