We can still all wish to have a few weeks of downtime. It is not a crime to desire this. You act as if the simple wistful thoughts of someone can negativly impact the whole economy. If everyone were not buckling their belts and not spending this economy would be much better and that poor worker with the measly wages would not be currently out of a job. |
Relax, I'm not in charge of swine flu. |
White house aide and family likely have swine flu

HAD and recovered. |
The news article says "has" - unless you have more up to date info. |
Yes, just like everyone else reported. |
His family still has it, apparently.
It seems like it's a mild flu here in the U.S. As long as that doesn't change, everything should be okay. But I still don't want to expose my very young children to it. |
yeah, I feel kind of torn when I see people interviewed on the news about it. CNN interviewed a couple of people on Monday who had gotten it, and they were saying "I first started feel symptoms on Thursday...." They started feeling bad on thursday and it's now Monday and they're giving interviews?? Must not be all that bad. |
My kids and I have all developed fevers, headaches, and achey bodies today. I don't think it's swine flu, but the thought has crossed my mind. |
It sounds like swine flu presents like any other flu. Why not run it past your doctor just in case? |
There is strep going around my son's preschool in Arlington. It could also be that... |
Also something a doctor can help with! |
Apparently not everyone is recovering as well as most. The CDC is now saying (though not very loudly) that this strain of the virus is showing signs of being more like the Mexico strain -- that is, that they are in fact the same strain. This is because some of the pateints have much more severe cases and are in the hospital. The severe cases are just taking more time to develop. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/30/AR2009043001133.html "U.S. public health authorities have been worried that the virus would start producing the severe pneumonia and deaths that so far have been limited to Mexico, where the epidemic began. "The clinical picture in the United States is looking a bit more like the Mexican situation," said Nancy Cox, a flu expert at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention." |
You have more signs of flu IMO than of strep throat, I'd call your doctor. |
