Because the picture of the house does not look in any way close to the million dollar houses I've seen. Her house looks like the houses in my Woodbridge neighborhood. |
Because you live in Woodbridge. She lives in Manhassett which is more expensive than Bethesda. |
TIL that "Jewish" is a race |
It's an ethno-religious group. Not too hard to understand.... |
It's called sarcasm FYI... Judaism is a religion, not a race. |
| You can't be "half black/half jewish"...maybe half black/half white or half black/half native american etc. If a black man came up to me and said he was half black/half christian I would give him funny look, you are 100% christian (presumably). There are, after all, black jewish people. As far as I understand from the little I know of judaism, there is no real concept of race. A "we are all human" sort of thing. Which is ironic because the black jewish community that is living in Israel has to deal with discrimination. |
Of course, I realize that, but I am responding to the above poster who criticized someone for calling it a "middling" house. For most people, the house looks like a typical suburban house. |
And Woodbridge is in Prince William County, not Bethesda. |
In NYC, not the suburbs. |
I thought I read that they only pretty recently moved to Manhasset. maybe they were renting while looking to buy? Or maybe saving more $ to buy bc of med school debt and expenses associated with three small kids. Or maybe spending all the extra $ on blow. Who knows. Those poor children. |
Really? This says long island is one of the places where renting is cheaper than buying. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/05/05/rent-or-buy-economist-explains-why-owning-home-still-beats-renting.html |
Yep. And you haven't seen property taxes till you've been to Nassau County. |
No, some Jews definitely consider it a race as well as a religion. |
Nope. And you're obviously not from NY or a place with a lot of Jews, b/c if you were you'd hear a lot of people refer to themselves as half-jewish. Like me! |
True, my dad's house in a town neighboring Manhasset were around $20K a year. |
