I remember reading about this sad story when it first came out. I'm not sure why you're asking if there are updates when it's clear what happened. She binged on drugs and had a secret wild sex life. In the old days the family would never talk of it and only explain that she'd had an unfortunate accident or died suddenly in her sleep with no further comment. No one, none of the relatives or older friends, would ever talk about the actual truth.
