Strait of Hormuz Reopening: Iran agrees to reopen the vital shipping route under specific protocols.
Transit Fees: Implementation of a $2 million fee per ship transiting the Strait. Iran proposes splitting these proceeds with Oman.
Reconstruction Funding: Iran plans to use its share of the shipping fees to fund the reconstruction of infrastructure destroyed during the conflict instead of seeking direct reparations.
Nuclear Commitment: A reported commitment by Iran to not seek nuclear weapons and a request for recognition of its right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes.
Frozen Assets: The release of all Iranian funds and assets frozen by the United States.

THIS IS FALSE.

The US has NOT agreed to this!

Yes they have. All of the things list can only be changed if the US and Israel want to invade. These are the same demand Iran has had from the beginning of the war.

Here is the wording of what the president said.
“We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to NEGOTIATE.”
IOW - this has NOT been accepted. It is a basis for negotiations. Trump will never allow Iran to continue to enrich Uranium.

And, my prediction is that ships will transit the strait WITHOUT paying a fee.

But if Iran does not stop bombing Israel like it is currently doing, all bets are off.

Tell me what points will Iran give up in negotiations? Remember you have just bombed them for over a months and not one of their demands has changed. Iran holds all the cards. These points are not demands they are facts on the ground.

F Israel. Israel is never honors a ceasefire. Israel needs a good kick in the head.

The IRGC had its butt kicked. They had a choice. Electricity or no electricity. Pretty simple, China told them to take the deal. They have no allies in the Middle East.

With enough money from tolling the Strait they won’t need allies.

The $2M toll won't hold long term. It's too expensive compared to going the long way around Africa

$2 million a tanker is about $2 a barrel. Even at $40 a barrel it is a great deal. At a $100 a barrel it is a 2% tax. I really do nit understand going around Africa? Are you think of the Suez Canal?

DP, not the PP who doesn’t understand what the Strait of Hormuz is apparently - but $2/barrel isn’t a great deal when it was free six weeks ago. Plus I’m sure Iran won’t do anything terrible with all that money…

The Gulf States will eat it and eventually connect their pipelines to Oman. Iran is going to need a lot of money to rebuild their civilian infrastructure and tame their coming massive economic challenge.

It could be a lot worse.

You haven't looked at a map, have you?

You haven't, I guess

On my map, you can't go around the Horn of Africa from inside the Persian Gulf without first going through the Strait of Hormuz.

This war has been a big strategic win for Iran. Trump basically gifted Iran the equivalent of the Suez or Panama canals. Iran will be making bank charging every tanker millions in fees. Essentially, Iran now controls 20 percent of the world's energy. And they have their uranium. No doubt Iran will have nuclear weapons in a year or two. Iran is much stronger today compared to two months ago.

In the age of cheap drones, choosing war is pretty stupid, as both Russia and the US have learned the hard way. You can't defeat Ukraine. You can't defeat Iran. At least Trump knew to surrender sooner rather than later. But we should probably stop electing Republicans. They are morons for choosing this.

Council on the two-week ceasefire/Iran's conditions for ending the war that Trump was forced to accept
Supreme National Security Council: The United States is committed in principle to non-aggression, continued Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz, acceptance of enrichment, lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions, termination of all Security Council and Board of Governors resolutions, payment of compensation to Iran, withdrawal of US combat forces from the region, and cessation of war on all fronts, including against the heroic Islamic resistance in Lebanon

https://nournews.ir/fa/

To ensure that the ceasefire is actually successful, the world must somehow restrain the Israelis both in Lebanon and against Iran. I'm skeptical about the possibility.

So much for that

Israel continuing to strike in Iran despite ceasefire announcement, security official tells ToI

https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/israel-continuing-to-strike-in-iran-despite-ceasefire-announcement-security-official-tells-toi/

Too bad Iran can't be restrained either.

"Israel is continuing to strike Iran despite the announcement of a cease-fire, an Israeli security official said. Since the cease-fire was announced, Iran has fired several waves of missiles at Israel."

https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/iran-war-202...1pSSZt0ibzcfgrfd1H6o

To really evaluate the aggressor we also need to tally how many Israel has attacked in Lebanon (a sovereign country that it is occupying 20% of after displacing 1.1 million people), in the West Bank (where the NYT has recently reported settlers violently sexually assaulting a man and killed a family with little kids), and Gaza (where there are reports that Israel is curtailing deliveries of water).

I’m Jewish so please don’t tell me I am antisemitic. I just have eyes and a brain that allow me to connect the dots.

It’s better vs nothing for the past month or how ever long the Iranians want to deny access. Oh Iran will use the money to rebuild and re-arm. They are the new power in the regime. Sanction gone and all frozen assets freed up.

Israel and the US attacked Iran today hitting targets in Iran. Iran is retaliating against Israel for these strikes. If Israel has not been in a fight where the other side can hit back. just like the US and it showed.

I’m confused why Trump doesn’t dump Israel at this point. His base would be happy, so would the international community and the MSM. They’re not buying him like the Gulf Arabs. The only MAGAs who like Israel are the cultists who would go in any direction. What ties him to them?
