Passport card

Thank you, SCJ Kavanaugh

Drunk bought a$$hole

They don't consider a passport card or a Real ID drivers license to be valid forms of ID. try again.

They don't? That's news to me.

A passport card is the same as a passport book when IN the USA and at USA land and sea borders. So yes, PP, please tell us more.

they are morons and it has already been discussed that a passport card =/= passport in their minds

Live in a border state and eligible for an Enhanced Driver's License. Almost didn't get it b/c I wondered if a TSA agent would deny it even though I've gone through even MORE vetting than a REAL ID.

TSA has nothing to do with this.

Make sure they have their SSN memorized and if they are naturalized, know the year and any other important details about it, I have seen a video of ICE asking about that too. [/quote]

People should cover all their bases. And STILL the ICE dummies might do whatever they please. There is no consistency. These people have not been trained.

You partly right and partly wrong. Typically republicans don't want the government breathing down their throat - and that would include feds showing up at the door.

That said, republicans don't favor people entering the country illegally, or letting the stay. So i think many republicans would be ok with ICE aggressively investigating and detaining people here illegally. (and showing up at their doors)

But even polls are showing that a majority of GOP are not digging this. The die hards hold strong at 30ish % but that means a majority are not digging.

They have been doing this for almost 12 months now, what a news!

They are escalating, with a particular focus on Dem cities and states and particularly Portland and the twin cities.

Repeat. They are ESCALATING.

ANY sane administration would take a pause at this point rather than continuing to throw gas on the fire.

They know that they are failing, so they are going to get worse. However, I’m actually more optimistic now overall.

These people are losers. Losers always screw it up.

Don’t disagree but a lot of lives are being ruined in the process.

The dissonance between the ICE disaster and Trump cluelessly talking about his White House renovations is jarring. The silence of Congress is disgraceful.

But I guess on the plus side more and more Americans are waking up and taking back our country.

Agree, though I think you should modify to "the silence of the Republican Congress."

The smart people surrounding Trump KNEW they didn't have a mandate and would not be popular at all once they started grifting all they could for themselves. Miller and Vance and Vought and others have known all along that the strategy is to maintain and hold power despite being unpopular. Authoritarians don't need popularity. They need for the people to have no other option.

In this case they questioned the validity. They thought she looked too ethnic for her surname. This will happen again.

But in most cases, at least for now, ICE dummies will accept a passport card.

That’s not what is said either. This person is an adopted Latina with a White sounding name so they thought it was fake.

They will accept unless they decide they don’t want to. In other words, they don’t accept it.

But they do accept the Passport Card!

However, it's just like a regular drivers license. If a cop feels that it's fake or that the photo on the license looks nothing like the person presenting it to them they will question the validity. This don't mean that ALL cops refuse to accept ALL drivers licenses.

I too have adopted from another country. The legal advice we received was for them to have the following :

1. Certificate of citizenship (this was expensive and took a while to receive, but worth it) note - you can’t carry this around, or get it replaced, so lock it up.
2. Passport book
3. Passport card - carry at all times.

I retained their original visas and entry paperwork. When my oldest joined military, they wanted to see all entry paperwork and documents.

Serious answer - I don't think ICE cares very much about documentation of citzenship very much anymore. How old if your child?

I think I would give your kid a money belt, like for traveling, and have him keep a Passport Card in his person at all times, along with copies of whetever other documents you feel could help.

Also put some kind of tracker in his shoe in case he is picked up illegally (WITH his passport on him but they refused to look at it) and dumped off somewhere like happened to this citizen in December in Minnesota.
