The weird low production value Jesus shows will finally have a home in our Nation’s Capitol! See you later, low rent theater in Branson! We’re moving to the Big City!

The comments are vicious. Do you think any of the Trumps read this stuff? I doubt they know what the world says about them because their handlers don't let them know the truth.

Another big name bows out.

Any bets on when they fully close it down? You cannot alienate both artistic acts and your customer base and expect to stay in business. If this was private sector, the leadership would have been fired months ago.

Lazy, no good Trump appointed government workers who don't know how to run a business, this is what you get.

they should start a gofundme for the KENNEDY Center. I'm sure MAGA will contribute.

They have had quite a few job listings lately. I sent my DH one as a joke - he is job searching a similar role, but nope, not applying there under this administration and that mess.

This leadership would have been fired if it were private sector. Business 101, know your customers, know your clients, don't offend them.

I guess closing the Kennedy center for two years because no one wants to perform there is a way of saving face.

In terms of the "renovations" is there a budget line item in the House Budget or is this just another east wing grift?

WSJ reports that Trump says the Kennedy Center will close on July 4 for two years for renovations. Golf clap for them for calling it by its actual name.

The truth is it's in defense!

There goes the condo prices along VA Ave NW. And what is with the Watergate hotel these days? Does anyone think it has to do with Saudi embassy across the street from the Center?

I am genuinely concerned about what Trump is goign to do to the Kennedy Center during these "renovations." Will it ever reopen? Will he tear it down?

The Kennedy Center used to be one of the bright spots of living in this area, which comes with a lot of downsides. Between that and the Smithsonians, I felt DC punched above its weight in arts and culture, and in a democratic way that offered a lot of free and educational programming you don't always get in other cities. If we wind up losing the Kennedy Center altogether, I will be devastated.
