You better find someone today because the deadline to file is tonight at 9pm.

Then we're screwed. Grace is gonna coast to another term if she's uncontested.

+1, hopefully the other BOE members can outvote her.

Here's the final list of all the candidates who met the filing deadline yesterday:

At Large:
Wylea Chase
Brenda Diaz
Omar Lazo
Rosarie Tucci
Tiffany Wicks

District 1:
Grace Rivera-Oven

District 3:
Sharon Creed
Brett DiResta
Andrew Frykman
Sally McCarthy
Cassandra Sung

District 5:
Elma-Lorraine Brooks

Since Rivera-Oven and Brooks have no opponents, they will each advance to the November general election automatically.

I think Omar Lazo is gonna walk away with the at-large race since he has the teachers' union endorsement.

And Sally McCarthy has their endorsement in District 3.

Yup. It's their race to lose.

Someone needs to run again Grace ASAP. We cannot have her for another 4 years. She's insufferable and has no idea what she's doing.

I have to wonder about the candidates who list a huge number of boards, volunteer jobs, etc. they have done. Even if they weren't working full-time, where would they find the time to do all that effectively?

Unfortunately, time is up. She's got a lock on the board for another 4 years. And she doesn't even have to campaign or break a sweat to do it. Sad.

Make it pay like the real job it should be.

Anyone in the district can vote for another district's candidates, correct?

Why even bother with the pretense of districts at all?

It ensures that BOE members reside in at least five different areas of the county.

It’s not a real job and all they do is sign off on stuff. They don’t actually question it or say no.
