A simple search on here or Google would give you the information you need. Why don't you do some research? Our schools are very lax with rules and discipline. She claims she wants to bring that in but how can someone who doesn't follow rules themselves do that. She also lied saying she cannot mask due to health issues and refused to provide documentation. As someone with serious health issues, every doctor who is competent I've been to advises masking and will mask around me, and the main clinic I go to all staff mask and they require patients to mask as well as family members even still today. Very few health issues prevent you from masking and those health issues that prevent you from masking would mean it would be a bad idea to go into a HS unmasked and put yourself at risk. In all your multiple posts, you could just Google or even use AI and learn about her yourself. Also look at her Twitter/X account.

I completely agree with you that the masking is a problem, as I said in the post you are arguing with:

While her opposition to masking could support a PP’s charges of “crazy ideas”, I have yet to see any evidence that Brenda is a terrorist, that unnamed leaders of her organization were involved in an unspecified sex scandal and even if they were, how that disqualifies her if she wasn’t involved. (Bill Clinton was leader of the Democrats at one time, but I’m still voting Democrat tickets against MAGA - should I stop because of his involvement in a sex scandal?)

As to why I’m not “doing my own research”, I will research all the candidates before I vote, but that will usually involve researching their stated opinions on the issues via their website, candidate questionnaires, and candidate forums. I rely on firsthand sources and reliable journalistic sources, not anonymous, unsubstantiated gossip, which I would deliberately exclude.

If others think that accusations should be considered, it is incumbent on them to provide the evidence. Otherwise, they should expect their accusations to be dismissed as malicious rumors, that if they have any effect will be to generate sympathy for the accused. Anyone can make any accusation against anybody, but that doesn’t mean they should automatically be given credence. In this country, you’re innocent until proven guilty, and publishing false claims is libel. As a matter of principle, I think anyone who defames another is obligated to provide evidence.

You can choose to blame voters for not researching every scrap of gossip that is circulated, but it isn’t likely to sway them to your side. It may generate support from those who were sympathetic to your position to begin with, but other than boosting your ego, what does that accomplish? Or, you can post responsibly and provide support for any claims you make. Instead of getting upset and blaming me, a voter, for not doing my research to convince myself how right you are (which could potentially cost a vote), why don’t you do the googling yourself to convince me and other voters that your claims are credible. Assuming the claims are true, providing evidence can only help your side, but refusing to support them and choosing to blame voters will only alienate voters. So the question you need to ask yourself is which you care more about, your ego or the election?

Many of us did our research with the last election. I really wanted to vote for her but her values and morals prevented me. She is a known person with Mom's of Liberty who endorce her. If you have the time to post long rants on here, you have the time to do your research through the various news groups, especially the prior election or even here, follow her on X/Twitter and see for yourself. Try to engage in talking to her. You aren't doing your research and being hostile to others. I don't care who you vote for. But, depending on who you vote for you could be doing even more harm to MCPS. Reality is they will just ignore her on the BOE.

So you really think the best way to convince someone of your position is to tell them that based on nothing but your word (that you don’t care enough about to support), they should spend their time and energy to prove your point so that they can share the proof they find (which may or may not exist) with you?

Moreover, the fact that there may be previous threads on her does not constitute proof. I could create threads claiming that the Earth is flat, the moon is made of green cheese, that all socks should have polka dots, and that “6-7” represents the height of human wisdom, but it doesn’t make any of those things true.

I will research the issues that I know and care about, and suspect I research more than your average voter. I am willing to consider other issues that may be raised, but I require evidence beyond anonymous gossip. As a previous poster has already indicated, my single vote is unlikely to make much difference, and you may not care about it. However, the posts that have leveled accusations against a candidate indicate that those posters care enough about influencing voters to post. I am suggesting that most undecided voters who might be influenced by the accusations aren’t liable to be swayed when there is nothing to back up those claims, unless it is to be swayed negatively by such tactics. I actually think I went further than most by asking for supporting information to consider. By far, the most compelling argument against Brenda is the link that discusses her defiance of MCPS Covid policies. Unfortunately, the outrage over the idea that charges should be supported undercut your opposition.

Again, if you want your side to win an election, you’ll do better by recruiting voters than by alienating them.

A simple search on here or Google would give you the information you need. Why don't you do some research? Our schools are very lax with rules and discipline. She claims she wants to bring that in but how can someone who doesn't follow rules themselves do that. She also lied saying she cannot mask due to health issues and refused to provide documentation. As someone with serious health issues, every doctor who is competent I've been to advises masking and will mask around me, and the main clinic I go to all staff mask and they require patients to mask as well as family members even still today. Very few health issues prevent you from masking and those health issues that prevent you from masking would mean it would be a bad idea to go into a HS unmasked and put yourself at risk. In all your multiple posts, you could just Google or even use AI and learn about her yourself. Also look at her Twitter/X account.

While her opposition to masking could support a PP’s charges of “crazy ideas”, I have yet to see any evidence that Brenda is a terrorist, that unnamed leaders of her organization were involved in an unspecified sex scandal and even if they were, how that disqualifies her if she wasn’t involved. (Bill Clinton was leader of the Democrats at one time, but I’m still voting Democrat tickets against MAGA - should I stop because of his involvement in a sex scandal?)

As to why I’m not “doing my own research”, I will research all the candidates before I vote, but that will usually involve researching their stated opinions on the issues via their website, candidate questionnaires, and candidate forums. I rely on firsthand sources and reliable journalistic sources, not anonymous, unsubstantiated gossip, which I would deliberately exclude.

If others think that accusations should be considered, it is incumbent on them to provide the evidence. Otherwise, they should expect their accusations to be dismissed as malicious rumors, that if they have any effect will be to generate sympathy for the accused. Anyone can make any accusation against anybody, but that doesn’t mean they should automatically be given credence.
