I’ll take fun and fellowship over vanity. Age comes for all of us eventually.

+1. I don't drink very much anymore because of the way it wrecks me the next day, but I completely agree. I think women trying so desperately to hold on to youth look the worst.

Shocker, but you can enjoy life without drinking on a regular basis. Take care of your health and appearsnce.

That went right over your head, didn't it? The amount of drinking I do has zero effect on my looks (if you learned how to read, you would have seen it). However, the amount of obsessing you do about looking young is definitely off-putting and not attractive at all. Age gracefully and take that stick out of your ass. I guarantee you'll have a much better time.

LOL. You're a nice piece of work. It's obvious you don't care about your appearance.

At least I know how to read.

Then read about alcohol and its effect on your health.

You really are a special kind of stupid. A person says I don't drink much and you keep coming back with your idiotic "alcohol is bad for you." Maybe if you didn't have so much botox in your face, you'd read better.

Don't need any alcohol or botox, thanks!

I drank quite a bit when I was younger, and now drink very little, and I have come to the conclusion that it is mentally and physically better to drink less or not at all, than to drink heavily.

I know for people who have never been heavy drinkers, this might seem obvious. And I'm happy for you that you seem to have figured this out early! I didn't, it took me time, but now I get it.

When I look back on my early drinking, I can now see clearly how much of it I did because I was insecure, wanted people to like me, and wanted to live up to a specific expectation of "coolness." Specifically the heavy drinking. I'm not talking about having wine with dinner or a couple beers at a happy hour, but like hours of drinking to heavy inebriation, for fun, which is something I did regularly well into my 30s and now don't do at all.

If people are rethinking that kind of drinking, I think it is for the best. I'm a parent now, and I'm not going to tell my kids to never drink, but I am going to teach them to think about WHY they are drinking. If it's just a moderate amount of alcohol to relax or celebrate, that's one thing. If you're using alcohol (as I did) to impress people, silence your inhibitions, help you forget, etc., it's unhealthy and you need to find other, healthier ways to cope with life and social anxiety.

Just like smoking has become a rarity, so will drinking.

Cigarettes are becoming cool again among the youth.

Beer statistics don’t include seltzers like White Claw and ready to drink spirit products like High Noon and Surfside.

Those categories have been dominating the market for 3-4 years. People are still drinking a lot.

All American crops are sprayed with that toxic glyphosate - which not only gives you cancer, it’s why you get such wicked hangovers from just two glasses wine or two beers.

American booze is quite literally poison.

I will get a hangover or a bad headache from two glasses of French wine too though. And I don't get hangovers after eating a salad with all vegetables grown in America. So it seems that the problem is alcohol and not toxic chemicals, even if I'm not excited about the chemicals.

I can drink 10 beers and not get a hangover. Am I immune?

Smoking hasn't really become a rarity. Leave the US for once and you'll see.

That's why I don't drink American wines. Can't stand beer, no matter the provenance.

St. Patrick’s Day proved that alcohol consumption is alive and well.

I don't think most people can afford to go out to drinks on the regular now.

Mocktails are just as expensive. $10-$15 for a glass of mixed juice, fruit and seltzer,
