Letting the world know there are still sane people living here.

Brown people are mostly staying home this time, because protesting under Trump could be deadly for them. White people 40+ are taking up the slack.

That's how I felt. I am white, upper middle class, in my 50s, and don't work for the government. I felt that it was my responsibility to protest for all the federal workers or people of color who feel that it is risky for them to do so.

I al not surprised. I knew this was going to happen. There is such a divide in the Democratic Party between white people and POCs. Keeping everything else constant, (education, lifestyle, wealth) I knew the minute all the whites in my alma mater chat group were going to to the march it was not for me.

What blather! Try a little harder to find a wedge.

Your boy Trump is going to come down hard in POC protesting because he is a racist. It's okay for POC and immigrants to stay safe during this time.

Mostly older or middle aged with a few younger ones. The only person of color I saw was a jogger who paid little interest to what was happening and kept running along. Should tell you something. It really looked like a crowd of people who are financially comfortable and just wanted to hang out and unite with each other on their grievances.

I guess you didn’t look hard enough. Or whoever filmed the footage you chose to watch didn’t look hard enough. I was there. You also overlooked multiple speakers on the stage. Try trolling better. You can doit!

I think you've misinterpreted this. Per social media, people of color are advising each other to stay home because if the protest is met with violence by police, they will be the first ones hurt.

I am brown, I wanted to go but I am a naturalized citizen. Things are scary for people like us so I sat this one out. I wish I had less to lose and more courage.

What they really need to see is voters voting for Democrats. That would scare them straight. But so far they don’t seem worried about it. I heard ine Republican strategist say that protests turn off voters. Bad memories of Democrats supporting BLM riots, lootings, burnings.

This is absolutely correct, but Democrats continue to ignore good advice.

This is absolutely incorrect. Democrats did not support lootings and burnings. They virtually unanimously condemned it. But Republicans continue to ignore good reality and feel they have to resort to smears.

it is not MAGAs burning Teslas. It isn’t even republicans. The arson of Teslas is being done by (say it with me):

- democrats.

Its such a weird civil war amongst the democrats. Dems are burning Teslas that were bought primarily by other Dems who smugly bought Teslas to demonstrate their Green cred. Weird.

You and your obsession with burning Teslas. No burning Teslas at any protest I saw today. No Teslas at all. The destruction of Tesla is all on Elon and he seems to be able to destroy his company all on his own.

Today was a lot of peaceful angry protesters that have lost a lot, like we all have and gained absolutely nothing in return. What a waste of an administration.

NO! Destruction of Tesla is on you, it's on thuggish behavior of those who think it's righteous to confiscate property of others and steal their time they spend earning the money to pay for these cars. It's making it "dangerous" to use these vehicles, so that nobody buys them. How do you do this? Your terrorize existing owners who already paid for their cars making them afraid to use them, wanting to sell them and creating overall environment of threat for new owners who dare to buy them now. Then you blame this on Elon, as if he is going to pay for damages to the cars already purchased.

You are full of cr*p hypocrites who are either too dumb to realize that EVERYTHING in your everyday life that you use contributes to oligarchy or you simply have no ethical qualms taking away property rights of others and using THEIR property, not yours for your cause.

Unless you are Amish living off the land and barter you should stay this argument out. You have zero moral ground here.

I was out for several hours today and I've seen people from every race and age and they have been turning out all across America by the hundreds of thousands. My social media feeds are completely flooded with photos and videos from all across the US.

Sorry to disappoint the DCUM gaslighters. "Everyone is staying home" is just not a thing today.

Because one poster saw a group of older women, so according to their logic, the entire group was older white women.

Older people are more reliable voters. It's great that they are out protesting. It should scare do-nothing Republicans in Congress.

Sorry even the Rs are beginning to hate Tesla. Should have unloaded your stock earlier.

Yeah, find someone stupid to believe this. My brain hadn't rotted like yours. There were multiple anti-deportation protests with people who actually have real risks who participated across the country. LA had a big one. You are saying again? POC who are numerous in DC metro area were "told" not to participate because of ICE raiding the protests? Because what? Everyone who isn't white looking is likely to be a recent migrant? Or even an immigrant? Is this 1800s?

Wow wow wow. SO WRONG! Musk destroyed Tesla through his own thuggish behavior.

Here's what you need to understand: What Musk has been doing to America is many many many orders of magnitude worse and did far more damage than some handful of incidents of some rando vandalizing a car or spraypainting a dealership.

SIT THE HELL DOWN AND START PAYING ATTENTION, NUMBSKULL.

YOU are the one who needs to sit down and stay out of the damn argument. And while I do not condone the vandalism, that is the least of the issues - WE ABSOLUTELY DO have moral high ground for criticizing Musk and DOGE, FAR more moral high ground than you dickriding Musk supporting sycophants!!!

Hurt FEELINGS? It's not my feelings, dear, it's my wallet. It's a car I paid for with my TIME and I cannot use it being afraid to park it. It's very diff. Feelings are nothing. What I "feel" now I cannot overcome because you are confiscating my property. I was born poor, I got nothing for free, this car cost me money, I do not like working for a living and I never had a job I loved. I have real anger now. And I am losing my empathy towards stupid older people and moms whose lives are getting ruined when they are caught on camera, doxxed, arrested, etc. If you are supporting their brainwashing then you owe them.

I was there today and there were tons of people. But, totally skewed older, female and white. It’s amazing to me that there was such a noticeable lack of college age kids. College is WHEN you protest and usually the impetus for change. But then again, using my own teens as an anecdotal bell weather, youth seem disaffected, apathetic and even much more conservative than me and my friends back in the day!

No, PP, this the era of Trump and Musk — who both came of age in racially segregated environments— and view that as just “great”. It’s in the age of arresting whoever some poorly trained agent thinks looks the part — and realizing that, under the Trump administration, due process is no longer guaranteed. We don’t have to be “told”. We understand the history of this country very well. We live it every day. That you reference the “1800s” suggests that you’ve overlooked a lot of information PP.

We were there. I was there. But we are tired. We recognize that 14% of the population can move the needle a bit, but it’s not on us to do the heavy lifting.
