It's Oscar de la Renta but from the sounds of their IG post about her it was custom. That being said, Biden's granddaughter wore Lafayette 148 to his Inauguration and it was custom but people liked it so much they made a version to buy off the rack. So keep the faith.

I think it's beautiful. I love pink!

Really? I'm one of Usha's biggest fashion haters but that is actually one of her better looks.

I like it too. Flattering color and cut but some interesting details. Her make up is not my favorite but not bad.

She doesn't have good skin, large patches of melasma and very dark undereye circles. She needed better foundation and a brighter lip.

I love her outfit, think it's the bad hair and makeup that make her look a little dowdy.

Way too much product on her hair, which is styled in an unflattering way. Earrings look silly and eye makeup looks messy not polished.

Yeah, I am not a fan of Usha's style at all, but I do like that she chose pink and didn't just do red, white, or blue. I don't think it is HER shade of pink (it's a little too muted and washes her out) but I appreciate that she chose something that would stand out. I think I said earlier in the thread, I find the "All men in blue suits and their wives in red or blue depending on party affiliation" look so bland.

And I really liked the Biden granddaughter's coat, too, as evidenced by me still remembering it four years later. It's nice to have a bright pop of color in gray January.

Is that what that was?! I saw a close up and thought maybe her hair was wet from the snow or something. It looked sopping wet and caked onto her head. My bf thought maybe it was just flecks of gray creating an optical illusion.

Yeah, it's slathered with gel. Unfortunate look. https://www.hola.com/us/fashion/20250120770930/usha-vance-pink-coat-trump-inauguration/

Oh god. That header picture makes it obvious. That's so bad. Who did her hair so I know to never, ever go to that person for anything. Not even a bang trim.

I voted for Harris.

I think Usha is a lovely woman.

Her children are adorable. She looks happy and smiling. That's important.

She's most likely a high achiever. Let's hope she can handle the pressure.

Her son just patted her head and JD's head. Hilarious.

Anyone know where her pink coat is from?

Also wondering! Her skin tone with that pink is perfect. Shes gorgeous.

Pink coat is Oscar de la Renta, as was her black dress the other night. She seems to be going for a classic look relying on American designers.

She needs a different stylist

I would guess she may be having trouble finding designers willing to dress her. She may be doing the best she can with what/who she has at her disposal.

I don't think that is the case. Oscar de la Renta's social media has been very outwardly and proudly posting about dressing Usha and Ivanka this weekend.

Yes- but who else?

Good point. Then again it may have been easier for Usha to just go to ODLR and say "Look, I'm not into fashion, can you make me a couple of coats and evening gowns for this weekend?" She may not have tried elsewhere.

Only time will tell, but I do hope she gets a stylist. She has potential, but my guess is she will either totally flop OR try to copy Melania/Ivanka. (Which would also flop because she has a completely different body type. I think, for example, she would look cute in a shift dress and kitten heels as opposed to Melania's body con dresses and 10" heels.)

True, but do you know what's interesting? Adam Lippes, who worked at ODLR way back when, is responsible for Melania's inauguration day look. I wonder if it's just a coincidence or if there is more to it. Kind of curious!

Oh that is interesting! I'm sure just a coincidence though. A lot of the younger generation of "classic" American designers all got their start at ODLR, Ralph Lauren, or Carolina Herrera. (Wes Gordon, for example, who took over Carolina Herrera a few years ago, also used to work at ODLR.)

I actually think he is significantly better looking than her, and that's saying something because he's not that cute either.

This is an utterly insane take. You either have very poor vision or horrendous taste but I'm betting it's both.

I think they are both average. She improves her appearance with makeup. Her clothes are not well fitted. Ultimately she is still average.

I’m a YLS grad. They are both YLS 9s.

That's not saying much, LOL!

I think that was PP’s point.

OMG from that Hola article

Usha's latest outfit might have a special meaning, as this shade of pink is associated with charm and beauty in India, apart from representing beauty. Pink is also associated with love and celebration, and it represents the joy and happiness that come with the victory of good.[/img]

Definitely helmet head, but it's because she has all that layering and flyaways in the front, which is what makes her hair looks messy and unkempt all the time.
