St Marys versus St Louis

How many Catholics actually bring a Bible to Mass? Just about no one.

Probably b/c teachers don’t want to be responsible for ensuring students take said Bible and get it back home.

If a student wishes to bring a Bible to Mass, sure. Why do you ask?

Ultimately, it’s the church’s Rector’s responsibility (and fault). He, not the principal, controls the school. Surprised that the Diocese hasn’t noticed the chaos and stepped in yet.

This. Hathaway is the problem and is going to bankrupt the parish. We quit giving the minute our kid graduated 8th grade; he's spending like there's no tomorrow.

He bankrupted his previous parish as well. Hathway is the problem, bottom line. He's a freakshow! He compared covid to the everyday flu (his words). He's not very priestly!

Yeah, what does the Bible have to do with God?! Why would anyone take a Bible to church?? So weird.

So weird that you would use the missals in church that correspond to the readings from the Bible?

Weird to have missals rather than just using the Bible.

What happened to Covid? I actually hear more about the flu lately than I do about Covid. So I wouldn’t criticize him for that — he was way ahead of his time and should be applauded for not succumbing to the hysteria.

You are exhausting.

Could you share more about how he bankrupted his previous parish? As there are a lot of St Mary’s parishioner concerns about his excessive spending on renovations, furniture, art work, etc.

NGL when I googled the SFSS guy, he reminded me of Hathaway. They both seem self-centered and dpn't care about others.

Have any BSSM middle school families shared their concerns with the school administration? If so, did they hear the concerns and are you confident positive change will happen?

My DC is in the K-5 building having a positive learning experience, but I did hear concerns from middle school parents. Everyone did at the school, it was not a secret in the carpool line. If the principal had no idea of this situation, he needs to get out in the classrooms and hallways more.

I will say they quickly announced at the end of the year the excellent Assistant Principal and Extended Day Director left and I hope the school is able to hire someone qualified for those key positions.

Now BSSM apparently isn’t announcing Honor Roll recipients anymore either?? Haven’t received any email this summer congratulating those who made Honor Roll, like I did previous summers by now.

Meanwhile, I get plenty of emails congratulating sports ball (and asking for money).

Slow, certain decay and lack of emphasis on academics.

They usually mention it in the end of year letter. There have been plenty of postings about the Honor Society.

The school is definitely not headed in a great direction. I am waiting to see who is the new Assistant Principal and Learning Center director.
