St Marys versus St Louis

Hire an ILA teacher — it is mid-October!

I have no dog in this fight, but finding good teachers is hard at the moment in general, and I would imagine that when you are religious school the pool is even narrower because not people of other faiths or no faith may not ever even consider applying for the job. Plus Catholicism's stance on LGBTQ+ people and on unmarried people cohabitating can also make some people leery of applying too.

algebra, although they say they took it in 8th.

Interesting. I have an 8th grader there now. There’s a new Algebra teacher and my child is loving it/really understanding the concepts. Will be interesting to see how my child does on the diocesan placement test. My child’s NWEA standardized test scores in math have skyrocketed since the beginning of 6th grade.

The math is leveled. The options are pre-algebra, regular algebra, honors algebra and geometry.

+1 Also many don't want to teach middle school. High not only pays more, but more people want to teach it.

BSSM needs to get their middle schoolers under control! Poor behavior is not a good look, and it is time for some real consequences so change can happen.

Maybe if they published their honor roll it would help.

Not St Mary’s. They give kids the day off bc the Eagles won the Super Bowl. Idiotic.

In your other post you said it was the whole diocese because the bishop likes the Eagles, in which case you can’t blame St Mary’s for it.

What other post? The schools didn’t HAVE TO give a day off. In a sane world, this would have been a trick and the bishop would terminate any principal who fell for it and took him up on the offer.

False. Monday the 17th was President's Day. Nice try though.

You started an entire thread about it AND posted in a third thread. They really got your panties in a twist over this, didn’t they?

Please. This happens every single year. You know this. Have you complained directly to your school or the diocese?

You must be new to Catholic school.
