Not an argument, just a suggestion. Some free advice.

Sidwell parents--- since your school administrators aren't taking care of the school, maybe parents can start one or two DIY school improvement/beautification projects.

A couple of posters brought up that eyesore of a baseball field. What a great place to start! Parents from the burbs could bring in their lawn care equipment, buy some fertilizer and sod or seed. Take down the crappy plastic bunting on the fence, and repaint every painted surface. It wouldn't address the biggest problems there, but it could convey the message, "somebody actually cares about this school!" Could be fun too!

Oooh, this looks like fun! Tell us what school your child(ren) attend so we can offer you helpful suggestions. 😀

In the days before DCPS did its big renovations to its schools, the PK parents at my kid's DCPS elementary school spent a weekend on landscaping at the school. It was fun, and made everyone feel better about the school. My kids are now at Potomac that does, or maybe over-does, great maintenance. But seems like a nice project for parents if you're frustrated with how your school looks and feels.
