Oooh, this looks like fun! Tell us what school your child(ren) attend so we can offer you helpful suggestions. 😀 |
In the days before DCPS did its big renovations to its schools, the PK parents at my kid's DCPS elementary school spent a weekend on landscaping at the school. It was fun, and made everyone feel better about the school. My kids are now at Potomac that does, or maybe over-does, great maintenance. But seems like a nice project for parents if you're frustrated with how your school looks and feels. |
Sidwell is famous (so many breathless articles in the best newspapers about Harvard of prep school) Prep is infamous (I feel for this kids living in the shadow of the morally corrupt intellectual lightweights Squee and Bret) |
Haha. The harvard of prep schools? Do you actually think that way? |
Society wise and and among the old money elites the Cathedral Schools. |
DeMatha |

Was thinking about this. What DC Private would people say is most famous on a national level.
I think top three are: DeMatha, Gonzaga, SJC Was not thinking about this. What DC Private would people say is most prestigious at an international level? I think the top three are: BIM, STA, Whittle (RIP) |
Never heard of it. Where is this school? |
“But Sidwell has long been described by some as the Harvard of Washington’s private schools.” https://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/22/us/politics/22sidwell.html?_r=1&em |
An international parent told me just this morning that the “only DC school known in Europe is Sidwell.” Direct quote. |
That may or may not be true, but that wasn't the original question. The original question was which school is most famous at a national level. It's clearly Maret. |
Maret? 😂 I think you’re the first person to mention Maret, and we’re on page 18. |
That's the joke, my guy. |
DCUM: “Haha. The harvard of prep schools?Do you actually think that way?” PP: “The NY Times thinks that way.” Boom! 🎤 |
| Gotta be Madeira. Name another school whose headmistress once figured in a TV movie. |
