+1 everyone knows only executives deserve raises. Blue collar workers should be paid in company store script like they were when this country was great

what you say is right but is that reality? you really think a CEO will take a paycut and distribute to the workers while keeping prices idle? this is purely a democratic idea and a peachy world idea. strong arming people to give you the raise will cause an increase in prices to the consumers. please google wage inflation spiral, hands down the worst inflation any economy can face. biden is so clueless, he actually believes the opposite. listen to any economist, they will all the same. but we are dems and love to spend money and tax people. nothing ever changes.

The owner class owns you. You must accept that. There is no lever of power to pulled to change it. Stand down.

well all of us disgruntled with biden will not vote him in again. place your bets everyone, money is not on biden.

What a weird pivot and what a way to admit you don’t think workers should be paid fairly. Why did they have to take the hit to their pay years ago to keep the company running only for the C suite to pay themselves hundreds of times more than the people who make the damn cars? Why are you such a little quisling?

Funny how you think this will help the working class not realizing it will add to inflation and actually hurt in the long run.

Why do the c suite exec get paid so much? Because they have a specialized skill that the average folks dont, is it that hard to understand? Do these executes just get lucky and end up in this position? They have no skills to run such a huge corporation? Really?

Its all good, we can keep going around in circles.

+1. It’s like our gardener or cleaner asking for more money. I can easily find someone to do that job, probably at below what you are asking for. Careful you don’t “ask” yourself out of a job.

DP. No, it's not like that at all. Gardening and cleaning are not as highly skilled as auto assembly work. There is actually a shortage of skilled, non-college-educated labor in this country.

Why do the c suite exec get paid so much? Because they decide their own compensation. Because they have a specialized skill that the average folks dont, is it that hard to understand? They don’t have a specialized skill set at all. Do these executes just get lucky and end up in this position? Usually, yes. Or the right connections. They have no skills to run such a huge corporation? A few years ago they had pretty much run American car companies into the ground. Really? Yes. Really. We’ve brought it up several times on this thread.

It’s all good, we can keep going around in circles.

We have to keep going around in circles. You think you know everything but you don’t know anything.

You are delusional. CEOs don’t have any specialized skill deserving of such high pay. They are the people behind the curtain creating a lot of illusions and spin. In other words, their greatest skill is BSing.

But in return, I want tariffs dropped on foreign autos coming to the us as long as they pass nhsta testing

Give uaw what they want

Drop the 25% tax on light trucks and 27% tax on Chinese built cars

Is there bipartisan support for this?

No

Obvi not

It’s funny to see how much Republicans hate workers. A few of them are kind of supporting the striking workers, but their “support” is more about weakening policies that address global warming. They don’t think workers deserve money and they still hate unions with every fiber of their soul. They talk out of both sides of their mouths that they want American manufacturing back, but not if they have to pay fair wages.

+1 Josh Hawley walking with striking workers is such an effing joke.

People change their minds all the time on political issues. I for one love that JD Vance and Hawley are leading the Republicans to adopt more left wing economic positions because these are the policies I want to see implemented. I would much rather have people like Hawley and Vance on the other side than people like Mitt Romney or George Bush, but I’m an old school Union Democrat, not a Country Club Republican turned Democrat like a lot of people on this forum.

^ they are not changing their positions. Give an a chance to vote, they would vote anti-union 6 days a week and twice on Sunday.

They're in this fight, so to speak, because they think they have a clear win in the anti-EV/ climate initiative fight

They do not give a crap about these workers and would turn on them in a dime. They wouldn't even be out there if it weren't for having political advantage carping about EVs

Why isn’t anyone talking about this?

Donald, always hiring actors to support him, because most sane people never would.

Everything Trump does is a lie.

Scabs? Yes, that’s a tried and true management tactic.
