please don’t bring your dog to the bus stop. Our ES bus stop turned into a dog park with bored parents chatting and letting their dogs play in the adjacent yard and dogs barking or jumping up on little kids. You think your dog is well behaved but I’d argue that one dog is one too many.

Horrible way to start the day for little kids who are scared of dogs - having to stand far away from your dog, boarding the bus crying. Just stop.

What about dogs at school pickup? Even worse.

THANK YOU! As a parent of a child who has been charged at twice by unleashed dogs while minding their own business and is super afraid, just stop. I do not care how gentle your dog is, how they wouldn't hurt a fly, how they are just excited and love kids, are a puppy in training, how I should get a dog of my own to fix my child, etc. just leave them home.

They are not allowed on any FCPS property. Of course, some parents will think that such rules do not apply to them. Hopefully the new principal will hold those parents accountable and shut down this behavior.

And yet at Navy kiss n ride I see dogs daily - families that pick up their walkers and all them back to school. I guess they don’t care if kids are allergic to the dog, as long as their dog gets a walk.

Really? You are a sad person. I feel sorry for you. You can just ignore people's posts ranting about the kiss n ride or the bus. You don't have to comment if it bothers you so much. You are probably that same soup nuts person that just wants to hate on people. She has a right to not like the people at her bus stop, what's it to you?

Talk about unhinged, LOL, you had to respond twice!!

Thanks for posting.

Very limited interaction with him, but he seems like a great guy. I feel really sorry for him to have to deal with the AAP parents though. I hope he is strong enough to shut them out and ignore their demands. It would be a huge improvement.

How exactly do you hold parents accountable?

PP w/ the PSA re/: dogs at the bus stop.

Yes - don’t bring to school pick up/walking line either. Again, our neighborhood ES was a cluster f***k at pick up because parents with leashes dogs would crowd the narrow sidewalk and spill out into the street waiting for their DC to come out. You have busses exiting, kids crossing the street to a daycare and legions of parents pushing strollers all trying to be first/early.

I believe it’s a Health Dept rule that no dogs allowed on school property but here again parents skirt the rules- I guess the sidewalk parallel to the school isn’t school property…

There seems to be no lack of Navy parents happy to complain loudly about things. Perhaps they could actually do it face-to-face with people who bring their dogs onto school property. Instead of just complaining about it on DCUM.

I think the poster is saying that when they go through KnR, they see other families that walk their kids to the campus WITH their dog. PP sees these dogs with walkers.
Not okay. As has been stated, dogs are not allowed. The entitlement of some parents is ridiculous.
