Our bus has arrived as late as 430. Sometimes the kids have activities. I'd rather them take the bus but, the pickup line is necessary at times.

+1 I’m not planning to. The last 2 years we have been told we “needed” them and after the first month, they never got used.

The bus is unpredictable, so if you have activities in the afternoon it make sense to pick up children.

+1 I don’t want to stand at a hot bus stop and make small talk while we all wonder where the bus is as it’s late for the millionth time.

How about not scheduling activities that start at 4 or 4:30?

Or the buses could arrive on time

I’m a sick because we don’t do the bus? You’re unhinged.

Really? You are a sad person. I feel sorry for you. You can just ignore people's posts ranting about the kiss n ride or the bus. You don't have to comment if it bothers you so much. You are probably that same soup nuts person that just wants to hate on people. She has a right to not like the people at her bus stop, what's it to you?

PP here who was called a dick. I never said I didn’t like the people at the bus stop, it’s more about feeling awkward/making small talk and then feeling annoyed when the bus is late. And it’s really not pleasant standing in that heat. I can avoid all that with kiss n ride.

Elbowing my way in with an annual PSA:

please don’t bring your dog to the bus stop. Our ES bus stop turned into a dog park with bored parents chatting and letting their dogs play in the adjacent yard and dogs barking or jumping up on little kids. You think your dog is well behaved but I’d argue that one dog is one too many.

Horrible way to start the day for little kids who are scared of dogs - having to stand far away from your dog, boarding the bus crying. Just stop.

What about dogs at school pickup? Even worse.

THANK YOU! As a parent of a child who has been charged at twice by unleashed dogs while minding their own business and is super afraid, just stop. I do not care how gentle your dog is, how they wouldn't hurt a fly, how they are just excited and love kids, are a puppy in training, how I should get a dog of my own to fix my child, etc. just leave them home.

Our principal banned it for this exact reason.

He did? I haven't done pickup this year so I didn't notice but there were a lot of dogs last year and some big ones.

+1 I can’t stand seeing all the dogs at pick up.
