And finally, 14 year old carjackers are not weighing sentencing outcomes while contemplating their crime ... probably not the 19 year olds either. DP, the pandemic did not turn these teens into violent criminals. The knowledge that they can run the streets with no real consequences has had a much greater impact.

The children /teens have no idea of the consequences, and yes, a couple years without school turned them to violent crime. This seems so obvious, so you know any kids?

As someone who worked in DCs juvenile justice system, the idea that the pandemic did this is laughable. When kids are taunting the police after their arrests saying they’ll be out tomorrow, that has nothing to do with the pandemic.
