When he proposed, you could see the wheels turning in her head, weighing the risk of looking like a bad Christian if she accepted vs. becoming a non-entity on the show if she didn't get engaged. And when she saw him, you could see her recoil at his touch, only allowing him to get one surprise kiss in before she took several steps back. I think if she thought he was hot, she would've stuck with him and played up the drama of having an inter-faith relationship.

(Still not sure why she dragged him to see her MAGA family. That was just mean.)

So you all agree with Shake that she said yes to stay relevant on the show?

Weird that you're trying so hard to frame this as "agreeing with Shake." I'm sure Shake and I both believe that the sky is blue, but I don't see the need to say it that way.

As to the rest of the cast's reaction to his statement, with the possible exception of Natalie, I think they all prefer Shaina to Shake. And he was being annoying asf in that moment. So I'm not surprised that they shut him down.

That's why I use the word actors loosely. Maybe he does improv on the weekends or something or he was a theatre major with the casting director before vet school... But he was hired to be there, as opposed to the others who went through a regular casting process looking to be on the show. They had him be charming in the pods, which we didn't see bc of editing, just enough to get him to find someone who would say yes. And Shayna, "pretty" and planted to act super flirty to find a match.

He is also a "DJ." I am sure he plays sh*tty music.

I’m sure either his mom or publicist made him do it. There is no spinning his behavior as bad editing or whatever he is trying to spin in as. He also doubled down this morning on ‘telling the truth’ and also his gross obsession with Vanessa Lachey. At this point he is bordering on scary stalker vibes. I’m sure he is not sorry, he just doesn’t want to look bad. Such strange behavior for a grown man.

Maybe when people don't put them in their top lip? Or overdo it? I have a friend who used them to help erase lines in her mouth, looks good on her and you can't tell. But if you're young and trying to make your naturally thinner lips full, then no.

My heart broke a little during the reunion when he basically asked Shaina "Did you not like how I look?"
BTW, Shaina addressed her squinting on Instagram and said it's because she wears contacts. Um, I wear contacts. I don't squint unless it's sunny out.

Agree, it's just a habit she has when the little tiny wheels in her head are turning. She's just a vapid twit who thinks she's far more attractive than she is.

Omg, np and finally watched the season over the last week. Totally agree with all those people who said all the couples are troubling and not worth rooting for. I guess my fav was Iyanna and Jarrett if I had to choose but he's a bit shady. However, I am just really floored at how *colonized* both Shake and Deepti seemed. WTF? I'm desi, in my early 40s, and I (sadly) had a lot of cousins/family friends in my early adulthood who would never date a person from our race. But it seemed like it had been changing at least here in the US, and it's so sad to me that this type of self-hatred is still so common. In my 20s, I met guys like Shake (Indian guys who'd never dated Indian girls) and I always ran far, far away. WHY would you date someone who doesn't like the way your people look and is only attracted to the race that subjugated your people for 300 years ? It's such a recipe for heartbreak.
