Lockdown at Blair?

This isn't a Blair issue. Nor, is it a Churchill, Wooton, Clarksburg and any other school I'm forgetting having a serious incident in the past few months since reopening. This is an MCPS issue in terms of safety and accountability. This can and will happen at all the high schools and possibly middle schools. We have very large schools and having no security is shameful. Expecting staff to do everything from education to security to parenting is impossible so they either need to hire much more staff or allow these things to happen till a student or staff is dead. If they want more mental health in schools, great, its a fantastic idea but it doesn't have to be all or nothing. We can have SRO's and mental health professionals all working together to help the kids. That would be ideal since some parents refuse to get their kids mental health treatment and expect the schools to do it. As more parents are checked out, the more this stuff will happen as if parents don't have control at home, we cannot expect schools to control those same kids who are used to running wild and not listening to authority. And, MCPS needs to partner more with parents and get more parent involvement. Both MCPS schools we've been at are very very closed and not welcoming to parents. That's a huge red flag to me.

Once again, all MCPS schools have SECURITY guards.

I have never understood how these stupid racist f$cks think it makes sense to compare people not trusting the police to not trusting Black people. I guess they are just projecting their own blatant racist hatred of Black people on us because their tiny brains can't comprehend what it means that police in America are a corrupt, violent institution and they won"t get it through their thick, racist skulls until more White people get killed. Like with drugs, suddenly substance use is a horrible illness caused by evil corporations and not a character flaw because now tons of White people are dying. Well don't worry, the 6MWE crowd is coming for you and a disturbing number of police support those crazies, get ready.

There is no police brutality because no police have been charged with brutality is not the convincing argument you think it is.

What about the MCP who got caught on camera screaming in the face of a 5 year-old last year? Do they not count because they weren't SROs? They also were not charged, because it is basically impossible to charge police, nor were they disciplined.

oh so one bad apple means we should get rid of them all? I knew you were going to bring up this strawman argument. Gosh, I could say the same thing about certain groups because of one bad incident.

Next time your kid needs a cop to help them, make sure you tell them not to call the cop because they are all bad. See how that works?

Um yeah if a company is selling apples and some of them are poisonous and they don't try to get rid of the poisonous apples then hell no I am not eating any of those apples.

And I am sure as f^ck not giving any of those apples to my children.

so, along those lines, if one black kid did something bad to your kid will you make sure your kid never interacts with a black kid?

You won’t get a response to that. Obviously.

Anyone? Anyone?

No one is hungry for your racist troll bait.

I mean I actually did respond to that but the trolls don't know how to respond to the fact that Black kids get arrested when they commit crimes (and also when they don't) but police officers are totally unaccountable for their actions while in uniform. Police officers are part of a union, Black kids are just people (I know that may come as a shock to some people here).

Why would I trust anyone who is a part of a powerful organization that protects criminals within their own ranks? Same reason I don't trust the Catholic Church.

As soon as that is mentioned the trolls just ignore and respond to other posts because they are gutless, pathetic excuses for human beings.

Some police officers are not held accountable, others are. There are bad people in every profession and some get away with crimes and others don’t. But, right now we have to focus on student and staff safety. There have been too many incidents at several schools and it’s time to stop this social experiment before a student dies.

The high schools and middle schools have some but not enough. If it was working why is this stuff happening.

If they sent their kids to Cannon Road ES near where they live I’d actually listen to what he says but he’s such a hypocrite.

Look at his twitter. They may have been at public but not anymore.

There are known and extreme protections for police officers that allow them to literally get away with murder. I get it, you DGAF. I do, and don't care if you want to distract from how absurd and racist the PPs I am responding to are.

When they do come you can thank yourself. Because it is people like you who attack people who both recognize that there are flaws in the system but also understand burning the system down hurts everyone, that will make it possible.

At the end of the day most people want to.root out the problems but not at the expense of their own children. But your vitriol and bashing of middle of the road or left leaning (but not radical enough for you) makes alot of us just walk away from trying to be helpful.

I want people to be treated fairly of the police. I do not want the police to disappear. Your solution to a few bad apples is to set the barrel on fire. No thanks buddy. You lose my support and my vote.
