Anyone picturing preppy-types has got the wrong idea. Very jocky, very "bro." A lot of hard boozing and high-fiving. Fill in the blanks from there however you want, but the atmosphere was well known.

He looks more like a wimp now than a jockey bro.

Completely agree. Looks like a total wuss. And a weasel. And a liar.

The bro thing, then, was probably an act. It often is.

That may have been a motivating factor into why he got involved in this kind of stuff. The pressure to "fit in" and not be an outcast is powerful.

The Wapo tracked him down hiding in Bethany.

It was a rhetorical question. That we know where he is and are not compelling him to testify proves the R's don't want to hear what he has to say. Why? He could totally clear "innocent Brett." If Brett knows he's innocent, as you insist, wouldn't he be begging for his friend to clear him. If I were innocent, I know I would!

Don't forget Judge apparently was a part of a gang bang/rape/ but he told ex it was consensual. He is in HIDING. He needs to confess and come clean.

What I don’t understand is victims of sexual abuse waiting until their abuser becomes a public figure to come forward if they’re scared of how people might react.

How have you not heard about the #MeToo movement? Tons of victims of sexual harassment/sexual assault/rape are sharing their experiences publicly for the first time, even if the incidents happened decades ago.

From her statement it seems they were “house parties” but were not necessarily HS parties (unclear), and that she went until she herself became a victim.

No. She said she was raped in '82 but went to parties '82-'83.

So young people should never go to a party again if something bad happens? I mean, I can understand not wanting to, but that's an individual decision. I fell off a balcony during Beach Week and broke my ankle, but that didn't stop me from going back the next year for more stupid partying.

How do you know he hasn't begged him? Judge knows that the questions are likely to turn to his own behavior, and he's avoiding that at all costs.

Give me a date, location, and a corroborating witness, and I'll start listening.

I doubt those exist for the transgender people. They probably just want to pee. So, maybe we can go ahead and let them use the bathrooms without worrying about it.
And, to be fair, I guess we can let Mark Kavanaugh keep peeing in the public restrooms too. But, let's not give him a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.

I would bet most of them do.

Because no one wants to see their abuser rewarded. Duh!

+1.

“But before he rose to national prominence, he stood for nothing more than the run-of-the-mill product of a pervasive cultural attitude that is finally being challenged. “It’s systematic,” an alumnus of Landon, the boys’ school closest to Holton, told me. “It’s not just that there are bad apples, either. These places make more bad apples. And they take the bad apples and polish them up to be shiny apples, who can one day be nominees to the Supreme Court.”

And young boys stop going to church/school? Girls stop going to family dinners with their abuser across the table? Most people just want life to go back to normal.

Do you think they will face political backlash?

They fear their own base more than anything else. He may still be confirmed.

I think the base has shrunk considerably in the past 24 hours!

Remember that Roy Moore was not elected...

Moore almost won. They would rather vote for a pedophile vs dem. Do you really think anyone has changed their minds over the past few weeks? More like people hav just dug in deep.

I agree with this. Kavanaugh can pee in public restrooms but no seat on the SC.

IRT Ford;s polygraph.........

Dr. Ford's polygraph letter contradicts letter she sent to Feinstein. Polygraph letter says "4 boys and a couple of girls" were at party. Letter to Feinstein says "me and four others."

And, her therapist’s notes also stated something different than her letter IRT the number of people in the room.

Details matter.

Some fun facts:

• Christine Blasey Ford releases polygraph report from her legal team. Details differ from other times she has recounted the story, and it is revealed that it was administered in Maryland — even though she recently delayed testifying before the Senate, citing difficulty with flying across the country from her home in California.

• Michael Avenatti has declined to make his client Julie Swetnick available for media contact. The NYTimes says it is thus unable to corrobate her story.

• Judge Kavanaugh has testified under oath to Senate investigators in response to Swetnick’s allegations.

• GOP senators Cotton and Graham declare Swetnick’s allegations “not credible,” echo Kavanaugh’s “Twilight Zone” characterization.

• President Trump disses Avenatti on Twitter… and apparently gets under his skin.

• Jeff Flake trashes Trump for being “uninformed and uncaring” in response to Kavanaugh’s accusers — still says he has an open mind and will hear out both parties.

• Avenatti tells CNN’s Tapper: He doesn’t know if he first heard Swetnick’s story before or after Ford came forward

THIS is your question? Really? First, victims of sexual assault rarely come forward.

In this case, Dr. Ford was the first and I urge you to read her statements and her attorneys' statements of why she came forward when she did. Once she came forward, the other victims felt they had an obligation to come forward as well, as they were other victims of his and Dr. Ford was putting herself out there. How many more victims are there who will come forward now? That is what Ashley Kavanaugh and the whole US wants to know.
