Did Spirit lose any players to ECNL teams?

Some ECNL tryouts were attended as a backup plan . Numbers may be a little off. From what I'm hearing...Mclean is losing players and at least a coach.

Loudoun 04s picked up some eirher leaving or cut from DA's

I've heard something similar. For the 04s, seems there will be player movement back and forth. Some leaving the GDA for ECNL and some leaving the ECNL for the GDA, and seems to be a net status quo. For the younger age groups, it seems to be more net movement toward the DA. For McLean, they have lost a coach. I'm not sure if any of his current players will go with him to the DA or not.

what coach left?

I still object how folks try to knock ECNL. I think DA is a winderful option for girls who have access to those clubs and want to dive all in. For others, who are seeking a more flexible but competitive situation, ECNL is a great otpion. And for others who don't have access to either or can't manage the travel commitment, there are strong clubs that provide great experiences, including. If a girl is a a strong player with potential to play D1 or USWNT, she will get discovered.

Once again, there are no kids leaving GDA for ECNL. There are kids who didn’t make GDA who are going to ECNL but don’t make it sound like they chose ECNL over DA. The choice was made for them.

Once again, you are incorrect. I kmow of kids who ,ade GDA in the 04 age group who left for the ECNL. It was over coaching.

They were leaving when PDA was. They were on the original list and then drcided to delay their announcement - perhaos because of tryouts.

Speaking of which, I heard Loudoun was handing out offers like it was going out of style.

That is largely true, but 04 and up are less stable. Some 04s with GDA pffers left to the ECNL for a veriety of reasons: coaching, cost, time commitment. The younger age groups are choosing GDA whenever its an option, except VDA 04s seem to be staying put. Only 03s and up have been looking elsewhere.

1 kid......1.....because of playing time. When you're on a stacked team be prepared to get what a stacked team offers in terms of playing time. If not, go somewhere else. Which is what that 1 player has decided to do. Left a good DA team for ECNL. Which could workout out...maybe not. But I agree...the coach is over rated with an over valued ego obtained by the parents who kiss to much a$$.

the ecnl WAS a great option and is now a good B league that replaces CCL I in nova. D1 is not limited to DA anymore then it was to the ecnl 2 years ago. great players can get on radar, but don't talk about how great ecnl is. a year from now folks will be asking what are they paying for? give it one year.

And BTW..that team picked up mutiple Mclean ECNL players after they cut their kids to make room for outsiders. That's the FCV way. Always on the bubble to be cut. No matter how long you been there or how much they liked you the year before. Enjoy the drama that comes with it.

Yep. FCV made backroom deal with the local DA rep to add her daughter and McLean teammates to the roster.

Not much of a backroom deal when a couple of kids are talented.

How can you be so sure? You can't know everyone's decision/situation.
